try the hot and cold packs on it, use an ice pack and then a hot flannel as hot as you can take it without burning yourself of course lol its worked on me many times in the past along with pleanty of pain killers

Can you not go to A&E after work to get it checked out? You may have to be signed off work for a few days to give it a chance to mend.
