Durham

We live in an AONB in the stunning countryside, and we absolutely love it, but Mrs is really craving a trip to the coast. The sound of the waves, a walk on the sand, really missing it.

Where do you live, do you like it, are you craving the outdoors elsewhere?

Just over there

I live on the coast. It can be calming, bustling, desolate, beautiful and destructive and I love living here!

I do love the city and regularly take trips to the countryside but I am always drawn to the coast again.

I live in a built up area. I'm craving any open space tbh.

Diagonally Parked in a Parallel Universe

The house I live in is on the edge of a small wood on the edge of a small village. There's nothing more relaxing in the summer to walk to the end of the garden, climb over a stile onto the riverbank and sit and watch the world go by with a bottle of beer for company!

South Wales

I’m originally from a seaside town but moved to the Welsh Valleys when we moved in with my mum a few years back. I quite like where I am in that there are mountains, forestry walks, nature reserves and lots of footpaths and a beach is a 30 minute drive away in two different locations. I’m also on the M4 corridor and there are lots of historic buildings etc not that far away.

Up on them there hills

Live on top of a hill, one mile from the Peak District

Heaven in summer, hell in winter.

Plan is to move to a place that you live outdoors most of the time.

Norfolk

Live in the countryside on the coast, too many people about during the holidays now as the local council are moving towards tourism.

Glasgowish

I love my house and bought it because of the location. Countryside on my doorstep, 9 miles from Glasgow, 30miles from Edinburgh and a 40min drive to the coast.

I live in a pleasant small city with beautiful green spaces.

But I miss living by the sea and would like to retire somewhere further South in the UK.

Solihull and Brentwood

Live in a village in the countryside.....But with HS2 going close by, in the not too distant. Having moved from a city. Best move ever: Shops and restaurants all within 200 yards. Great transport links. Buses and trains.

Possibly the second best place I've ever lived and that was the cbd area of Durban, some 30 years ago. Mad times.

BRIDPORT

I live in the country side, my nearest neighbours are 1/2 mile up the single track lane, and when I open my window I can hear the sea rolling up and back on the shingle of the beach.

I live in a small town but grew up in the middle of nowhere. I really miss nowhere, but my children would never forgive me if I removed them from the conveniences of a town. I'd live in a deciduous wooded valley far from civilisation if I had a choice. The sea doesn't really attract me, I like rivers and lakes much more.

Love living in Glasgow. Close to lots of parks, people and buzz, yet only 40 mins to the hills or beaches.

Other times I live in my head, which is mostly good fun too

Sounds like the majority of you all enjoy where you live. Home is where the heart is.

I live rural, nearest neighbour half a mile away in all directions.... Absolutely love it, but have to admit I'm drawn to warwe and find the sound of a river or the crashing of waves extremely therapeutic

I live on the edge of the Peak District

The house is on the crest of a hill and with the exception of a few houses set lower, I have a 180 view of the hills out of the back windows

The house is WIP and it frustrates the ass off me at times (cos I'm a bugger for finished), but just one look out back and it all just falls away, back to contentment

We have the sea closeby, the mountains too, a forest 5 mins away, which is perfect for this time in the world....not missing anything from the big cities.

Coastal for me every time - thankfully I live in Cornwall, surrounded by countryside & can see the sea, best of both worlds,

As fof city life - it's ok in small doses but blurrgh - could never live there! The one thing I can thank Covid for is my weekly work trips to London have been put on hold since last march!
