Foot long hearty Italian meatball marinara with extra cheese (laid on both sides of the bread likrle butter.... They never get that!) NOT toasted. Lettuce, cucumber, sweetcorn, onion, olives and just a few jalapeños.... No sauce.

A simple lettuce and malt vinegar sandwich is nice in the evening.

Lettuce is supposed to help you sleep.

Sandwiches

I can't name just one favourite - it would be unfair to all of the other sandwiches!

At the moment I'm obsessed with cheese and marmite pitta breads

Home made: warm shredded chicken with sea salt on a wholemeal roll

Ooh that's reminded me

Warm pitta with mayo, sliced beef tomato & red onion

As simple as that, but the taste and crunch is just oof

Sausage and caramelised onion is pretty epic. Thick white bread. Not too crunchy.

I like the crunch of the lettuce with the sourness of the vinegar.

Lovely

Hang on...

Lettuce and vinegar you've tried, but not fish fingers?!

I must advise you to rectify this!

Beatrix Potter got it correct! Lettuce is soporific ... especially when teamed with wholemeal bread

You've never lived Jojo

They have to be cod fillet ones, no cheap fish mush

Battered and oven baked so they go extra crispy

The bread or bread roll needs to be fresh and liberally buttered so it melts when you put the fish on

Lettuce, sea salt and then either Tartare sauce or ketchup to taste

If you ever travel to Porto, you need to try the Francesinha

It's a club sandwich on steroids

Layers of local meats, a slice of bread (or toast) between each, covered in melted cheese and served with a house sauce over the top

Some places top with a fried egg too

You need a knife & fork though
