the foreign athletes are paying for rent and board at the Olympic village?

The going rate must be £400 a week no?

Do you take Mastercard?

No, f*ck off. Visa only.

But i haven't got a Visa, i'm absconding immediately after my event heats.

Its not charged individually its provided by the Olympic committee and costs charged to foreign Olympic teams aren't published if they are charged at all.

How long do the Olympics last, that'll be weeks. My son starts uni in September , is there for 3 years n will end up almost £50,000 in debt. Myself and hubby have both worked since we left education, paid taxes, N I contributions and all the other demands that are put on us by local n central governments. Charity begins at home springs to mind, or is that just me?

The foreign athletes will be running faster in the city than on the track once they hear real guns firing instead of a starting pistol

Would be very surprised if the cost of the olympics is being funded by the increase in tuition fee's

But it's not the fees that make up most of the £50k debt is it?.....

Yes it is. 3 x £9,000 p.a. fees = £27,000.

£50k-£27k= £23k

£27K is much greater than £23k.

So fees are indeed "most" of the £50k.

Simple.

They make up £27,000 overall for the 3 years then a year in halls of residence at £628 per month. Then 2 years in private rental ooh then all the resources n cost of living on top. Think I need to recalculate!

Sorry not personal, just very frustrating!

Not that simple though is it?.....not all courses at all universities work out the same regarding fees do they?.....

Many costs vary from university to university.....some courses are more expensive than others as well.

But you knew that already

They shouldn't have to pay any fees at all-especially since one of the problems this country has is that its people are among the most badly educated and ill-informed in the EU ( as is evidenced by the inability of so many contributors to the Forum to spell simple words in their own language correctly and the fact that few other countries in Europe have 'newspapers' as low-brow as The Sun).

I don't know why people still trot out the old chestnut about foreign people being desperate to live here, especially as the same people tend to be the ones going on about how crap this country is.
