Some people think it does. I don't personally but my friend who comes from Malawi was worried when a black cat came into her house in case it was a witch.

It’s time for my greyhound to eat her breakfast?? That wouldn’t be a wise move on the cats behalf

Black cats are lovely and should always be welcomed. But then I'm pagan and not afraid of superstition.

It used to mean she wanted feeding as that was the only time she came in but now she's going blind so she's locked in all the time. She still comes and shouts at me when she wants feeding though and also when she thinks her tray needs cleaning (I do clean it regularly, she's just bossy)

Have had quite a few black cats in the past, now I have a pure white one & a tabby.

Just like humans they don't get to choose their coat colours and it was Christian (bit before before black plague happened) that decide cats especially black ones were associated with witchcraft...they would have been kicking themselves at depleting the cat population when the black death came though!

I think there's some superstition attached to a black dog actually coming into your home. Cats its more if they cross your path.
