If everyone lived a 1000 years and youthfulness would last 900 of those years?

Is this a trick question....

Or is it like the

'would you rather fight a duck size lion or a lion sized duck?'.....

Not tricky.

Just wondering if people could imagine being with the same person for hundreds of years.

Or would we change as a society an polyamory would become the common thing.

Depends ... how many of those 1000 years would it take to raise any offspring?

That's the origin of monogamy isn't it? To share the responsibilty of raising children

You're a grown adult at 18, just like now. Let's say from 18-900 your aging pauses at 30.

Then monogamy wouldn't be the norm

"You say that like monogamy currently means everyone only ever fucks one person ever."

I meant more in marital ways!

Like would people still marry each other for life at that point?

Yes I know marriages don't always last but would people still expect it to last till death do us apart when they committed to each other?

Probably. Then the 10th time still believe this is the forever one!

Yes, I think so. Like some people are poly and that's how they are, some are naturally monogamous and are happy with their 'one'.

In that case, I reckon the average age of marriage might just increase. On the other hand, if it's taken you 800 years to find the one, then they're probably not the one...

I would want a different husband every 5 years, once my children were grown up.

Imagine 900 years with someone you're truly in love with, every day that love getting deeper and stronger and all the experiences you could fit into those years.

I'm not monogamous in the slightest but the romantic inside me thinks that it could be possible.

Surely monogamy can be serial monogamy? Doesn’t have to be the same person. I think marriage should only last 20 years and then you have to ask again and do it again if you want to renew.

I like this idea. I'm a serially monogamous by nature, or would be if I was bothered about a relationship.

I can do monogamy, it just needs to be the right lady. I'd far rather experiment and explore with one woman than a series of soulless fucks with multiples. That still doesn't mean a life partner though..we would still have our own lives apart.
