"Maybe it's just a way they can help him out financially and they have the means to. Maybe they love the dog but don't enjoy walking it. Maybe the dog is over protective of its owners and acts like a prick if it walks with them Maybe they don't like the rain Maybe the dog genuinely loves the walker dude and looks forward to it Maybe the walker dude can't have a dog or is mourning the liss of their own, so the owners are being kind " Nah they had a different guy recently

"I have a simular view, I.e why have a dog and not train it? The amount if people I see with there dog taking them for a walk is unreal... come to the conclusion that its the same reason people do most things- self gratification/vanity/ego! " Or It doesn’t occur to them to do it They don’t want to They don’t know how?

"Just to reiterate they are fully mobile and not out at work when the dog walker arrives or leaves, might as well have a fluffy cushion really, don't get me wrong I love dogs but I just don't get owning one and not walking it. Oh they live in a flat by the way, not ideal for a retriever" I am genuinely curious, why does it bother you? If the dog is happy, and the owners are happy- who cares. I’ve got a big dog, who sleeps the whole time he’s in the house, I’m not sure the size of the home matters.

You're chastising them for being responsive owners and making sure the pooch gets exercise. They're keeping someone in a job ffs, surely that's a good thing?

"Jeez and I thought people owned dogs for the enjoyment of it which includes walking them, how wrong was I" You're being judgemental and it sounds like you're calling them bad owners for having someone else walk their dog. I had a mental breakdown a few years back. I couldn't leave the house I was that stricken with fear. My dog kept me alive because I didn't trust anyone else to love her as much as I did. Was I a bad owner for having someone else walk her for me? Was I a bad owner for not leaving the house some days and walking her myself? You have zero clue what's going on in their lives. Zero.

"And employ people to walk them, I mean I have neighbours that do this, they are perfectly mobile, what's the point. They have a golden retriever and a guy comes round to walk it every day, it's not like they are out working." My daughter in law does this for a living and earns good money from it, she is qualified and insured and she also has a background in training She has a few disabled clients on her books who some days physically can't exercise their dogs. Some of her clients work long hours Some of her clients have more money than sense and pay for her services because they can Some clients want one to one training so she will combine that with walking them. Lots of reasons, at least these people aren't leaving their dogs alone for hours on end and care enough to make sure their pets needs are fulfilled

"Jeez and I thought people owned dogs for the enjoyment of it which includes walking them, how wrong was I" I love my dogs but I often HATE walking them, particularly days like today when it is wet and rainy. I still do it, obviously, but if I could afford to pay someone to do it, I'd be very tempted.

I walk them early in the morning and very late at night, because one of them has problems with anxiety and it's best for us to avoid people. I hate interfering, nosey people. (And if anyone wonders - no, as far as I know, they never made the report. Kind of wish they had, because they would have looked stupid in the end.)

You asked a question and people have given you answers, just because you don't like the answer it doesn't mean it isn't valid. I've been called facetious and I wasn't, I was accused of knowing nothing about my neighbours and I do (was retracted), I haven't said I didn't like the answer. I've been messaged and I quote "its a horrible forum, i see this type of thing daily" Also "Even fab itself is like a war zone, that’s why I left." So yes there probably are valid reasons to own a dog and employ walkers but honestly, someone above suggested it's so that people who are dog walkers are employed, get real, that's a reason to own a dog. This forum can be an ugly place, won't be back. " Not a single person said they get a dog to keep a dog walker in employment, so nobody needs to get real. Given the current financial climate where people are losing jobs left and right, if ya can afford to keep someone like a dog walker employed then surely that's a good thing? And you have been facetious, you've been given plenty of valid and personal answers yet refused to accept or at least try to understand any of them. My first list you ignored all of the reasons and just came back with "no, it's a different guy" If I had a dog at the moment and someone else walked it for me I'd be feeling really self conscious at the judgement you're passing and wondering if my neighbours were feeling the same about me, that I should replace my dog who I love with all my heart with a "fluffy cushion". And no, you may know your neighbours but you don't know what's going on in their lives and their minds. You know what you see (which isn't everything) and you know what they tell you, which again, will be limited as to what they want you to know.

To answer your question though, it hasn't affected me that much. I'm still alive and I can find other things to do to occupy my time. I'm pretty good at occupying myself. I'm not the only one either. "And employ people to walk them, I mean I have neighbours that do this, they are perfectly mobile, what's the point. They have a golden retriever and a guy comes round to walk it every day, it's not like they are out working." Maybe they can't walk far. Maybe they love the dog and not the walks. Maybe to get a break from the dog. Maybe they have other things to do. Anyhow .... I don't see that it should affect anyone else but them. People have children then run umpteen jobs to keep them and never see them. So I guess it's okay for the dogs too.

"Lets be honest , were all bored shitless, were all picky , ratty, sharp with people , reacting like we normally wouldn't , this virus and the lockdowns and rules are getting to us all , i guess we on forums to let steam off or even interact with others ( its the highlight of the day for some ) then we go and look at fab profiles to see what what we cant have or who we cant meet !, its like we are all teasing ourselves by being on here !, but hey we are swingers and its what we do best , its no fun when we are prevented from doing so Can't blame lockdown. cant blame lockdown ???? So can yoy honestly say hand on heart the last 12 months hasnt affected you at all? Your moods?, your day to day living ? Restricted you regarding holidys, hobbys, work, family time ??? Wow you must be the only one in the country , i salute you !!!! I wouldn't come on here to vent my annoyance on other people if it did. To answer your question though, it hasn't affected me that much. I'm still alive and I can find other things to do to occupy my time. I'm pretty good at occupying myself. I'm not the only one either. I know lots of people who are still cheerful and keeping their spirits up. " . your contradicting yourself im afraid , you said " cant blame lockdown for people acting and feeling different yet you then say it hasnt affected me " THAT MUCH " ! So it has affected you, its affected everyone in some way , large or small , so why say cant blame lockdown ? Im afraid you are not making any sense at all

Now I'm going to wish you a good evening and hope you got some pent up anguish off your chest. Keep staying safe

"Dogs are for people that have failed to find love with their own species lol" Dogs show unconditional love, whereas some people do not

"Just to reiterate they are fully mobile and not out at work when the dog walker arrives or leaves, might as well have a fluffy cushion really, don't get me wrong I love dogs but I just don't get owning one and not walking it. Oh they live in a flat by the way, not ideal for a retriever" you sound like a right nosey curtain twitcher

Oh they live in a flat by the way, not ideal for a retriever Do you have similar complaints of people who get domestic cleaners, nanny's or take their car to a car wash instead of doing it themselves? What business is it of yours? Why does it have to be my business to post on FAB that I don't understand the point, are you forum police now then, when were you appointed? I didn't say you couldn't post on fab, I'm asking what business it is of yours to know why they get dog walkers. Go and ask them, see what they tell you if it's bothering you so much " It isn't very pleasant though to keep telling people to go away and ask the people concerned He is allowed to ask here , leave the man alone please
