Anyone ever investigate the best part of the UK for work?

I had a offer of the work but would have to move from Sunderland in the north east, all the way to southrrn Cornwall.

I declined the offer and now unemployed. Is it q big gamble moving long distance for job opportunities?

Try supermarkets they are allways taking on even if it's a stop gap till u find what u really want to do! Aa for moving for a job if u have little ties to the area u are and u can afford to I would say go for it Cornwall is a lovely place x

I would say if you haven't got family ties to the area your living in. Then go ahead and move. nothing holding you back.

If you have ties, then it's more tricky as you need to factor in the salary to make it worthwhile travelling backwards and forwards in your spare time......and Also the cost of renting where your living.

It would depend on the type of job and security level of the work. Just as new jobs can have a probation period, you could take a similar approach. Don't fret over what may have been, though learning from it is helpful.

The biggest jump in cost of living is probably to London, so salaries for the new job must reflect this.

It's important to look after your wedding. Employment can help but also moving away can hamper you. You've got to take each opportunity on its own merits and assess and decide for each 1. Good luck!

I don't think the area necessarily dictates how good a job is or isn't going to be, more the job itself - although it may obviously depend on the industry you're in - you won't find many roles for deep sea fishermen in Birmingham for example

If you're looking to change area, I'd suggest to first find an area you like from a standard of living perspective rather than job type, and then investigate what opportunities there are in that area that might fit your background and experience.

The care industry is always looking for staff but it’s often a lot of work for not much money and it’s the sort of work you have to love doing.

But the good thing about it is it’s transferable, most places will have care agencies and I bet most are looking for carers so you could go anywhere really.

East Sussex

Cornwall has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and the most deprived town in Europe in it. You probably made the right decision in the long run.

I live in Cornwall, as does my family, and have it say that it has the lowest wages plus very low year round employment, the most deprived area outside of inner city deprived regeneration locals and even in comparison to most European poor areas it's considered poor ... the cost of living here is also very high unfortunately! But it's also an awesome way of life with awesome areas/spaces ... swings and roundabouts! Many here work away to make up for it ...
