I've seen Rhod Gilbert at a secret gig in a small room with 40 or so people. He was trying out new routines ahead of a tour. He was good.

Yeah I saw him live in Manchester 9 years ago. We decided to take our son as he liked comedy. He was 12 at the time. Rhod was hilarious, but very close to the edge in terms of his humour at one point in the show he points out a young woman in the audience and asked her how do she was. When she said 14 he went off on one about it being an 18plus performance. My son hid a bit. Fortunately most of the least appropriate stuff went over his head

A friend of mine takes the tickets at a good comedy circuit gig. One night he was doing the door and Rich Hall turned up and asked if they'd got any space for him on the bill.

My friend pops to see the gaffer who was outside having a fag and tells him that an act not on the bill had arrived and was asking for stage time. The gaffer who takes a firm line with this sort of thing told my friend to tell him to F Off. Walk ups are a London thing and this is the North and he's not having him.

My friend then tells him who it is. Gaffer immediately says, we'll have him!

To add, he was in town and had something new he was itching to try out.

Yes that’s where it was. The tour if I remember rightly had something to do with Nicholas Lyndhurst.
