Started drinking Chamomile tea recently as I read it helps improve sleep and regulate blood sugar.

Which teas do you drink for the health benefits or which teas do you just like in general?

Peppermint for digestion. Redbush because I like it. Some herbal ones for different aliments like lime tree flower one for fever or chamomile for calming down. I also used to buy pukka blends but didn't in a while. Yogi teas are nice too.

Pukka tea is amazing. The trick with herbal is to leave the bag in, and don’t bother with the flower ones.

Pukka do tumeric, rose, lavender blends amongst others. They are so nice.

But also, actual tea

Normal Assam tea or PG during the day, peppermint tea to get a fresh mind, a mix of chamomile and fennel tea in the evening to calm down and find sleep.

The taste isn't as strong as the smell, I've found. I guess mint tea is a good substitute for coffee as I hear it can help wake you up a bit

I normally buy chamomile, mint and green tea.

But I like the pukka turmeric and ginger at the moment.

But nothing beats coffee

Is that tumeric tea flavour or do you put the tumeric powder in the tea yourself?

I use the ground powder and mix it with some black pepper it increases absorption you can grate the root though.

Spearmint and chamomile.

Like peppermint, spearmint is good for digestion. And plenty of others have commented on chamomile benefits.

I drink Tetley decaffeinated tea. Got myself down from 8 cups a day to 2, but replaced them with Lucozade, which has 46mg of caffeine in 360mls.

I'm basically, a div, but tea makes me wee a lot.

I bought some cold tea infusions but they make me gag.

I want a nice tea that doesn't have caffeine or is loaded with sugar.

Another 1 for lashings of PG here

The chamomile smell smells like stale dried grass to me.

I'd research herbal and find credible evidence before trying more - and have tried a few over the years.

Green in the morning, peppermint after meals and chamomile at night. But I think I probably cancel out any benefits with the buckets of coffee I also drink!

I regularly drink Peppermint or mint tea or Lemon and Ginger tea.

I suffer with nausea as a result of medication and it really helps to relieve the symptoms.

Peppermint is my main go it, I brought a box of chamomile to help me sleep but haven’t gotten around to opening it yet.

Lemon and ginger when I feel under the weather and green tea when I feel I need that extra boost.

Oh also cranberry

Wellingborough

There’s a fair amount of published evidence that tea drinking, especially green tea, is good for health as tea contains substances* with links to lower risk for heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.

*polyphenols, epicatechins which have been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.

Tea is also a source of minerals (potassium, magnesium, manganese, copper, calcium, phosphorous and zinc).

Note that the quantity of these substances/minerals is going to be quite small and the benefits need to be considered only as part of a balanced diet and exercise etc.

One major benefit of drinking tea is the contribution to fluid balance and renal function.

An adult requires 2.7 (F) – 3.7 (M) litres of water per day (as contained in food or beverages).

As a rough guide, if you’re not peeing clear fluid at least once per day then you don’t have a satisfactory fluid intake.

Tea is my job, literally.

Please just drink tea for enjoyment. Things like Pukka matcha teas are just green tea dusted in matcha. To get matcha benefits, drink a cup of pure, ceremonial grade matcha daily. It's got hecka lotta slow release caffeine, vit C, and nutrients. And like drinking 8 cups of green tea (which I wouldn't recommend cos you'll piss loads)

Valerian can be good for sleep, but reality is whatever you find soothing

Loose leaf always better than bags. Teapigs are just Tetleys in fancy branding.

White silver needle tea is effin delicious.

End.

What makes loose tea better than teabags? Is it because it stays in the drink without having to chuck any away?

Purity of the tea and flavour, control of strength and greater movement for the tea to infuse. Ctc (what you get in teabag) or the dustings, release flavour quickly, which is handy, but can be more bitter. I still have a Twinings Everyday first thing in the morning, as I can make it quickly with kids around my feet.

Can also rebrew a lot of loose leaf teas, teas such as oolong can be rebrewed up to 7 times! So super good value for money too

It's probably there or thereabouts after I've put the kettle on, gone to do something else, and gone back to the kitchen many minutes later
