"Infra red heaters will not warm an open air space only surfaces the radiant heat waves touch. Furnishings, people and surfaces. So depends on the application. " We put it in a room of the size recommended and stood an upholstered chair about 4 feet away from it for two hours, no change in temperature of the chair. How long should it take?

"Should be pretty much instant. Sorry but cannot help much more. Sadly you might have got a bad heater. " OK thank you. We think we've got a bad one too. Unfortunately the supplier is cutting up rough.

"Back in the day when we were allowed to go to pubs, my local one had infra-red heaters in the gardens seating area, sitting probably around 2.5m away from it I would feel the heat on me instantly. Not sure if that helps in any way?! " Yes it does. We thought we were going crazy or expecting too much. This is literally a huge waste of space.

We have a jumbrella at work (the heater doesn't work now but when it did) it was just like being stood next to a bonfire. You don't expect it to heat the whole area, but you should definitely be able to feel a blaze almost the closer you get

"The infra-red ceiling panels work well and you can feel than from more than 4 feet away however there are a lot of poor imports so best to get one from a reputable seller. " Lesson learned. We bought it via Amazon but the seller is proving v difficult

"Bought ceiling hanging one in 1st lockdown 2000w with light and remote control used in gazebo £70 off Faceache Marketplace its great to take chill out the air , hope that helps " Ours is a 600w wall panel. Apparently designed to heat a 14 square meter room according to the description . He now says it will heat 8 square meters. The room we're using it on is just over 7 square meters. "Maybe better with an oil filled radiator but if there us no heat then you should be able to return as faulty. Good luck!" We've got a really good oil filled radiator that we get out if the central heating goes wrong or to warm up the conservatory. We bought this to go in a room we built to keep our books in that doesn't have any heat. We're trying to return it but you know when you just know you're not going to get anywhere? The bloke wants it in the original packaging which we have but he also insists on the outer Amazon packing which we don't have
