Asking for a friend I don’t do hooves at all I do a lot of knife making and general forging It’s a hobby, it’s very difficult to have it as a full time profession I sometimes wear a leather apron, mainly when I’m doing work on the bench grinder or angle grinder as the sparks burn holes in my clothes " Fantastic

I’m just using up the last of my 1075+CR, had some great results with it. Currently got a 1080/15N20 Damascus billet that I’m working into a small bushcraft style knife, going to put a kirinite handle with carbon fibre pins on it.

" And leaf spring as my mates owns a breakers yard, " I’ve used spring steel with only around 30% success, after heat treatment they snap, for the effort put in it’s easier just to buy quality stuff for knives. I have made a few punches and drifts from springs though, they work pretty well though.
