Annoying noises

Just chatting to a friend and we're talking about annoying noises you can hear while on the phone. We've just realised we've been on the phone while hoovering, using a hairdryer and having conversations with our kids (although that's a given )

So what noises annoy you when you're on the phone?

If the other person is eating it makes me feel stabby. Other than that I'm calm personified.

Everytime my ex wife rings me (we are good friends) she always has a conversation at the same time with whoever she is with.

It's infuriating

A friend of mine calls me when he's walking home from work through a park.

I have to try to hear him over the noise of children playing, birds tweeting and the wind blowing.

Idling car engines outside my flat on a nice quiet day. The Archers theme tune. Cutlery clanging when you put them in a drawer.

Not too bad, I could still hear you over them

As for what you can use next, you really want my suggestions?

Eating, chewing, drinking... breathing. Just living in general I guess

The chewing / drinking loudly infuriates me both on and off the phone so much I contemplate murder. Misnophonia is a lovely thing.

I'm the same and I'm completely insane - sooo yes you should get that looked at

I can't talk to anyone on the phone that is doing anything else that talking on the phone - breathing is allowed but in a normal fashion- no walking uphill or running ANNOYING.

I've definitely got Misophonia regardless of the phone

Oh dear. I had to eat my dinner on a Teams call last night. Should I write a note of apology to my colleague?!

I did warn my darling colleague that if he wanted me to stay to do 2hrs unpaid overtime to help him out, it'd have to be while I shovelled curry into my cake-hole. He consented; no kink shaming

"The sound of piss hitting the toilet bowl and the toilet being flushed "

I once had someone trying to talk dirty while clearly suffering some sort of gastrointestinal complaint. I hung up because it was knocking me sick, only for him to phone again 5 minutes later. All going well, then that same wet splatter and farting noises.

I know I have some kinks, but that's not one of them

Lets see if someone else relates to this one.

Your chatting and all you can hear is someone tapping

The answer is they are replying on the phone by text or playing a game

Not interested in your phonecall as they are distant most of the time.

Daughter does this drives me nuts im well over 100 times putting phone down on her.
