The flippant answer is "I'll take whatever i can get sweetheart"

The considered on is that I whilst physicsl compliments are lovely, the ones that make me feel warm and fuzzy are the personal ones x

I think if someone compliments you on a physical or personality trait where you lack confidence this has more impact, but you may also be more likely to doubt the sincerity. Messed up, no ?!

I agree with you. I guess I was thinking about the sort of thing we are aware of ourselves, for example if I think I have beautiful hair or teeth, and somebody compliments me than that is a reinforcement of my confidence whereas if I dislike my hair because it is naturally curly and somebody says "what lovely curls" that provokes a different response ?

Been thinking about this on and off today. We give compliments for a myriad of reasons. Do we do it because we hope to get them back in return? And do we focus on giving looks based ones to females and ones od strength to makes? And if so is that a bit lazy are they really genuine. Sorry that's more questions than your OP. It's just been on my mind today

Maybe you were telepathically reading my mind as I have been thinking about it all day.

Somebody was complimentary about something I personally thought nothing of, so it was kind of a moment of "Oh, I did nt realise that I am XYZ and it was nice, especially as it came out of the blue and seemed sincere.

They're welcome always if they are genuine and not the usual "ur tits r so huge".

I think they are more welcome when they are unexpected and from loved ones and friends and work colleagues. People whose opinion of me matters, when I know they mean what they say and they aren't using it to try and plunder my love cave. I like being complimented on all sorts in all honesty because I'm needy like that. The ones that really make feel love for them? The ones which say something nice about me AND how it makes them feel. An example

Oh Meli your voice is so sexy.

Cute, appreciated, cool.

Meli your voice is so sexy because it gives me a chunky whenever I hear it.

It's nice knowing the effect you have on others and you can't ask people but if they volunteer that information within a compliment, you know it's a big one in a good way.

We get random messages saying they love our pics...

A lot of the time there’s no ulterior motive so that’s a nice compliment.

Then there’s others which are then followed up with FAF messages which aren’t so nice!

As the male of the couple, I give more compliments than we receive, but here's a view from a giver in case it interests people.

I try to keep my compliments general and not sexually explicit. I tend to say somebody looks amazing or beautiful rather than saying they have fantastic tits. If I mention something about their body it's most likely to be their hair or maybe a general reference to the figure. If I'm going nuts I might mention their bum.

We know this site, though, and we all know sexual attraction has a lot to do with it. I have sent compliments to women simply because I like their profile or contributions to the forum, but if I mention how they look, it is because I fancy them a lot. I just don't feel the need to say they rouse my loins even though they clearly do! Hopefully that makes them more comfortable about my comments. But I certainly never send a compliment unless it is completely sincere and usually itching to say how much I like them.

They tend to be well-received. I haven't had any complaints, although some have not been responded to, so hopefully I get the balance about right.

A couple of of ladies on this thread have had the compliment treatment from me and I now Fab friends with both now. Hopefully it stays that way after this post!

If I get complimented on my eyes, hair and tits then I take it because those are my favourite things about me

I rarely pay heed otherwise in the Fab world

Outside of it compliments from those I care about are important as they are the ones who's opinions matter

I love it when my youngest son compliments me; he rarely has much to say but he will notice if I've had my hair done or dress up for an evening out, and always comments on my dress.

He hates it but I always take him clothes shopping with me because he is honest, not afraid to tell me if something looks bad.

On here I tend not to believe compliments because it's normally just someone looking to get his dick wet, it's a generic thing they'll send to every woman within 50 miles rather than being about me.

In real life I enjoy compliments even if I sometimes find them embarrassing. If someone goes out of their way to say something nice that's a lovely thing.

I give a lot of compliments in real life; if something strikes me then I'll say it, I like to put some positivity out there.

For some reason my youngest son hates compliments, they really embarrass him. His reception class teachers had to learn to quietly praise him out of earshot of his peers because he looked visibly uncomfortable if they did it publicly. It has nothing to do with how he's been brought up as his dad and I have always given him and his bother lots of compliments.
