So I'm rewatching Dr Foster which is as good as I remembered it, but I had forgotten how unhinged she actually was. Which characters in books, movies or films leave you thinking that person is completely bat shit crazy?

Pick a character Jack Nicholson played and 9 times out of 10 "batshit crazy" would be applicable...The Joker, McMurphy (One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest), Col Jessop (A Few Good Men), Jack Torrance (The Shining)...the list goes on

Nicholson was funny nuts as Joker. Phoenix was seriously disturbed and hard to watch, for me. Heath Ledger a bit of both.

I thought she was pretty cool. I’d be pissed off if my husband had not only been having an affair but got someone pregnant as well.

I do like Jack N but sometimes he is just too over the top. In that film he was a little more vulnerable and human:

Jack (an arsehole): You make me want to be a better man

Helen Hunt:That’s maybe the best compliment of my life.

Yes.. its not best example for the thread but I used it as an opportunity to recall the title.

I remember that dialogue. I think over the top suits him whatever he touches. I can't imagine restraining his passionate acting.

Cuckoos Nest would definitely be in my all time top ten films. Have you ever seen Five Easy Pieces ? One of his early films and one of his best, I think.

Oh so would I, but going round to a school boys house when his parents weren't there, asking for alcohol, and trying to engage him in talks about sex isn't right even in her circumstances.
