Yes it is a concern plus the build up but I hope they will have it under control and be able to stop any unrest very quickly.

"I think Trump not being there could be a good thing. "

I think it will be a good thing but it doesn't stop him stoking up his followers because after all what has he got to lose now.

Manchester (she/her)

I dug into this rabbit hole a bit

Two schools of thought. 16th-20th, armed peaceful protests (say what now) in DC and in state capitols.

The other - which I love - is that the BLM antifa Deep State want to trap True Patriots, so the Strong Patriotic Thing To Do is stay at home. Own the libs by sitting on your arse

They were talking about this briefly on BBC News when I was having tea.

He has to be very careful if he wants to continue in politics, or his party won't accept him.

He's already losing too many supporters, he can't afford to lose more.

"First assassination attempt at a presidential inauguration?"

Oh I hope not but I wouldn't be surprised if there was an attempt.

I think there's two issues to consider.

One, to what extent Trump is a threat.

Two, to what extent his movement, with or without him, is a threat.

Titz Towers, North Notts

If the various state capitals aren't prepared for trouble after last week, then something is wrong.

It's actually hilarious to watch from here how's the self proclaimed world's greatest nation is an absolute shambles.

Highest death toll from covid in the world, and a president whose preoccupied with claiming the election was rigged.

Educated friends living out there can't wait for this nightmare to be over, but fear a full on race war when Biden steps down and the US is run by an 'ethnic minority' woman.

"Is going be madness all over USA.....15000 National guards could be deployed. I pray to God it goes peacefully the inauguration...."

That's apparently not true about 15,000 National Guards.

If you ask me they should do a discreet swearing in, televised but behind closed doors. Do the big celebration event a month later when Biden has got his feet under the desk and is actually in charge of the security services.

Would you trust the current White House administration to organise security for a Democrat inauguration after what we've seen over the last four plus years? Not me, and not just because of what happened on the 6th January.
