So we know it's said to be a northern /Scottish thing (but one of us is cumbrian and the other Scottish so it's what we grew up with ). If you were going to have a crisp Sandwich what flavour crisps and what additions would you put in it?

100% it would be milk roll bread with thick proper butter, and then a combo of skips and salt and vinegar discos. maybe with a bit of brown sauce on there too (admittedly I have brown sauce with pretty much anything!)

I also think I've thought too much about this.

I'd say its just a British thing, ive never known this to be more common on one side of the country to the other.

In answer though, walkers cheese and onion is obviously the best, just them and butter.

Second place sounds gross, and I thought it would be till I tried it, walkers prawn cocktail sandwich with mayonnaise

Almost any flavour crisps for us but XL Cheese in white bread with a bit of butter (and some salad cream for Jane) is surely the ultimate crisp sandwich, with smokey bacon a close second followed by either salt and vinegar or cheese and onion. Either of the last 2 with a slice of ham or cheese or both works well too.

Food of the gods is a crisp sarnie. I have no preference on flavour or type of crisp. From salt and vinegar to monster munch to wotsits I'll stuff em between two slices of well buttered bread. Gotta be white bread though
