I am trying to locate an old flame from about 20 years ago.

I assume she will have married by now and changed her surname.

We used to work together but she left.

I have tried the usual Facebook etc but not even mutual acquaintances seem to result anything.

To be honest I'd find an old flame trying to get hold of me after 20 years would make me feel uncomfortable. Unless there was a very valid and specific reason for contacting me if we'd lost contact I'd want to left alone

Call your local police station, they'll give you the advice you need lol

Seriously though, maybe friends reunited or summit but the lady aboves advice that it might come across creepy seems pretty sound imo.

My ex wife's Dad left when she was young.

When we were married she set out on a quest to find him, tried all sorts with no success.

She rang the Jeremy Kyle show and they found him within 2 hours.

They met for the first time on the show with the audience and everything, it was shown on ITV.

The show paid for a taxi from Newcastle to the studios and back (she went with her sister as I had an important insurance exam for a professional qualification on the day)

The funny thing is, he only lived 5 miles away from us

Sounds quite sinister and creepy unless it's for a valid reason, which after 20years I doubt leave her well alone she's probably happy and has a family.

Anyone I knew at 20 remembers me as 20. If they found me at 40 I wouldn't be the same person.

I suggest you just move forward. x

Agree with the others.

Unless it's for something very valid and that she would need to know about (beneficiary in a will etc) then I'd leave things be.

It could easily make her and any family she may have very uncomfortable having a previous partner getting in touch.

Salvation Army or is that just for missing persons. If you're serious about it try and do it via an intermediary then she doesn't have to have direct contact if she doesn't want to.

A guy once say outside Mr N's childhood home for ages until his mother went outside and asked what he was doing there. He said he was an old friend of his and wanted to contact him. 40 years had passed, they'd never been good friends and the lengths he'd gone to were creepy.

I found one through her old school website, where I found out her married name. We are friends again now. I found another via google I didn’t make contact because it seemed inappropriate. I found a number of old Uni and work colleagues through Linked-In. It was easy to lose contact back in the day, as we didn’t have the technology and I wasn’t a letter writer and not very good at getting numbers and keeping in phone contact. I’ve been glad to reacquaint myself with some old friends and have visited, and vice versa, some of them.
