i far prefer radio broadcasts to internet streaming. i don't bother with shock jocks, mark & lard/steve wright style nonsense or talk radio. i'm more interested in mucsical content such as knowing tune, artist, label etc so i can go out and purchase the vinyl from my local independent store. i suspect i am in the minority though, which is fine.

It’s only available on D A B radios.

Mainly archive recordings from the past, although some aren’t that old.

A lot of Hancock, Round the Horn , Goons, that sort of thing, plus dramas and Just a Minute, Clue and Desert Island Discs.

Last night, for example, there was an old Desert Island Discs , A comedy drama and the final episode in a dramatisation of a Dick Francis novel.

"So because we are living in the 21st Century does anyone actually tune into the radio stations anymore or do they just listen to music via Spotify or YouTube "

Replied to my 'Do you now need a TV Licence ?' letter yesterday.

I tried to do it online but that requires for you to provide an email address, a telephone number and the date that you think you might start watching television in the future.

So, I withheld my mobile number and called the number on the letter. Thankfully it was a completed automated process and I didn't have to explain why I don't television.

I do listen to the BBC (mostly Radio 4) at home and in the car but, like providing contact details, I'm never going to download their BBC Sounds app, take up the offer of a 50% discount on watching repeats in a different way on 'BritBox' (that seems to be the sidebar advert of the moment) or go anywhere near the BBC internet player.

"Sometimes yeah.

It's good to be reminded of music you wouldn't normally listen to, mainly because you'd forgotten about it.

I proper love it when a song comes on and my inner memory starts blasting it out.

I'm all "oh my god yaaay, I forgot all about this AND I remember the words!""

My shazzam is full of song that I'd completely forgotten existed, all thanks to the wireless.

"Yep. I listen more to the radio than I do music.

LBC and in particular the James O'Brian show is the best radio by far .

If you haven't tried him before, I thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Weekly between the hours of 10:00-13:00 "

Please..... James is a whiner. Though I do listen to all of his podcasts for the guest. He's a nice liberal guy but whiney. For meat it's Nick Ferrari but for humanity and intelligence with a level headed approach to life it has to be Maajid Narwaz.... sexy as fuck too ..... and yes I would.
