Having been able to use lunch hour for a walk in a local park, I avoided slipping on the icy ground (1), took a number of really lovely wintery pictures with my phone (2), laughed at a few dogs enjoying their playtime (3), burnt about 400 extra calorie (4) and felt refreshed (5) when I returned.

5 reasons to be happy and grateful. What little things made you happy today?

This is a lovely idea for a thread.

I try to to feel gratitude every single day, the world is a very difficult place in my view right now and I try to be thankful for the many blessings that I do have including a roof over my head and and a relatively healthy family.

Today I'm grateful that I have already prepared a wholesome meal and it is bubbling away in the slow cooker. (A hearty vegetarian sausage casserole).

It is bright outside and I'm hoping shortly to get out to walk around the field which always seems to blow the cobwebs out of my mind and bring a smile as there are usually lots of dogs running around which are a joy for me to watch.

Last night I saw my auntie and cousins on zoom for the first time, she is very vulnerable and elderly, and I have a very realistic worry that I won't get to see her in person again as the last time I saw her was 14 months ago and she lives 200 miles away.

So it was wonderful to see her and for her to see my children.

One of the guys at work ought in some homemade cheese and red onion rolls, they're my favourite.

I had to stand outside for an hour at work, it was very slightly misty, by the time I went in the ends of my fringe had frost on. It made everyone laugh, was lovely to hear that.

I got 4 quarter pounder buggers for 87p, cheap tea for us tonight.

Work cat kept following me around.

The best thing is when I sent my daughter a how are you text she replied she was ok, getting on with her work. Then a minute later a double smilie face

The alarm goes of at 2 45 ! Look forward to june when it maybe just getting light as I leave for work! I started this job in sept I used to get up at 4 30 in previous job x
