What factors are being hidden?

If I still fancied them then yes.

If they totally weren't what floats my boat then no.

Why always have a social meet first. Has to be an attraction for me to play with a guy

Nope, had this happen where the guy looked nothing like all his pics so asked him politely to leave. Gave me a load of abuse down the communal stairs. Ended up escorting him to the main road. In a headlock. Complete nut job.

That's why you always have a social first just to make sure you actually get along and enjoy their company. It's that first and always for me.

Drinks or even dinner as by then I hope we both know we click and could take it further and have a second meet

I always make a effort to get too know someone very well before meeting and they do the same so we have a lovely connection that leads to enjoyment without any rush

Met a guy after talking online. He was very chatty, full of bravado and funny

Wasn't at all like that when I met him. Never met again

I would be honest and say it’s not for me and politely leave

Depends.

Had they intentionally tried to trick me or had I not managed my expectations properly?

If it was me, did I still fancy them?

If yes, then yes, I'd continue

Depends. I have had some meets where they looked nothing like the pictures, when there was no attraction then no.

If there was still an attraction then yes.

A few years of clubs and I would say only 20% actually looked like their pictures, but you have to take into account that people dont post bad photos of themselfs (usually) and a photo doesnt show how they look when they laugh, or talk, or even move in different angles.

Only one I got up and left was a date years ago, I turned up and he was easily 4st heavier and alot older than portrayed, and he outright said that I was the one who didnt look like my pictures

For the record, only person to say that negatively to me

If there is no chemistry in person and feel more a friend than anything, I wouldn’t go ahead with anything else.

Absolutely not. That would be simply fake and not fair on other person to pretend some attraction.

We turned up to meet a couple and there were 2 extra guys there. Badger was still a (very) newbie at that point and we'd already said we didn't want anyone else there. They agreed and said they told the guys no. We walked in and walked straight out. Dont lie...

I'd do it. I'm a man. I'd probably even have a go if it turned out to be a man.

In fact this one happened to me once. I'm married to her now.

Wales/ All over UK

It’s situations like this that have led me to prefer meeting for a social to begin with.

At the very least I insist on face pics, preferably a video chat at some point

Never. We make our first meetings social only to avoid that issue.
