Oops, looks like your being ignored in this post too

*shouldn’t laugh really*

I really wouldn’t think that’s the reason. Danvers are generally a lot more accepting of people than most other environments. Being foreign is not really a big concern for most I’m sure.

Sorry youve had this happen to you OP.

I wouldn't ever ignore someone depending on where they were from as I find that quite abhorrent behaviour.

I would hope that this is an isolated incident for you and a good indicator that those who do treat you this way are best avoided anyway.

There are plenty of really lovely folk who would be more than happy to get to know you and in some cases, because you're from another country too

I can't say that has been my experience , but of course I'll always be a "foreigner" , no matter how long I have been here.

Sorry your experience hasn't been as positive as mine

I think any form of racism is abhorrent and it is not acceptable in this day and age. I understand people have preferences and I do not want to get into the preferences/racism argument.

I have to ask, If they have ignored you then how do you know it is because of your nationality?

Not really true mate maybe a very small minority but the bulk of folk don't have issues with it. At the end of the day we are all the same, red blood smelly shit so no one can take the higher moral ground.

Now if you mean on this site well mate we are all different we have our choices, likes, dislikes who we chose to get in bed with who we like but I wouldn't put that down to the fact that you are a foreigner. It's a preference thing and this has already been discussed in the past.

We all have qualities in our own rights and choices we are allowed to make. So don't take it personally good thing's come to those who wait patiently.

Just my view guys not aimed at anyone directly and not meant to offend anyone at all.

Take care stay safe and keep fabbing

Not good if that is the case but looking at your profile it doesn't indicate where you originate from do when is this ignoring taking place?

That was going to be my question; how do people know? Also, if they don't respond to you, how do you know that it's because your not from the UK? Single men get ignored on Fab usually because single women and couples get overwhelmed with messages.

Just stick with it OP, you'll kind someone given time. Covid isn't helping thing either.

..There will always be people who don't answer mails, it is something you will have to accept or it will make you a whinger.

Why not try in your mail something about yourself, a little humour maybe, and then something about what they are after, making sure you match their profile is a way of hopefully getting an answer back.

I think it's too easy these days for people to use the race card. Racism is fastly becoming an outdated train of thought for the vast majority. I'd hazard a guess and as others have clearly stated, the competition on here for men is fierce and you feeling ignored is probably down to this. Good luck fella

Op, if anything you have a positive advantage over most guys on here by being Italian, as there are lots of women who love an accent. Say it loud and proud on your profile, and perhaps post a short video of you talking so they can hear your voice.

Good luck!

Im from the UK,and I find that 90%+ of the people I mesaage on here don't reply to me. To be honest, I'm 99% sure its not because of where your from and more the fact your not their type. Thats just how it is on here, and to automatically assume its because people are racist is wrong.

His profile doesn’t even mention his nationality so that can’t be the reason for not getting replies, and it’s hardly unusual for single men to get ignored.

Put on your profile that you're Italian as a lot of women are suckers for an accent! I once had an Italian man whisper in my ear in Italian during sex and it was such a turn on, he could've been saying anything to be honest as I don't speak the language but it was incredibly sexy

I've lived in several countries and I'd be thoughtful and considerate about others who may feel excluded.

That said, on fab single men will typically be excluded/ignored very frequently, due to people wanting and being able to get full matches to the type of man that they are looking for. I don't think OP's post was about this but his experiences here may exacerbate his sense of exclusion elsewhere.

During tough, stressful times people also tend to close down and increasingly exclude others. Our covid situation is probably adding to your experience OP.

Find some decent people, to help to keep you grounded op - there are plenty of us here. Hope things improve for you!

I rarely read messages.

I've been called racist for not reading messaging even though I state quite clearly I ain't gonna read them so no point in sending them.

People use whatever "ism" or "phobe" that fits their agenda as sometimes it's easier to find a reason for rejection that tars the other person as rude or phobic than it is to simply accept they ain't interested.

I have ignored people because I'm wiping my arse and don't wanna get mixed up and use my phone instead of toilet roll.

I've ignored people because something good came on the telly and distracted me.

I've ignored people because work phoned.

I've ignored people because I've fallen asleep.

I've ignored people because I don't like the way they've spoken to me.

There are so so many reasons, and I'm willing to bet it will only be a minority that ignore you for being Italian.

I don’t think it’s a case of “people don’t like foreigners”.

I think it’s more like people can’t connect quite so well with someone from elsewhere that may speak another language, not speak English perfectly, have a different culture and therefore different interests/sense of humour etc. I wouldn’t brag yourself up over it though

"Of course, someone posts about their experience of xenophobia and people start lining up to tell them they're wrong about their own experiences

Of course they do because xenophobia can be a conclusion somebody comes to incorrectly, just as it can also be a the correct conclusion.

Just because somebody feels they have been treated with xenophobia does not mean that they have. Just as somebody who insults somebody can feel like they didn't say anything wrong, when they did.

The OP is wrong in that unless he was told directly that is the reason he was ignored, it is nothing more than an assumption. Is it possible that he has been ignored because he is not originally from the UK? Yes entirely possible, but it is just as possible that it is not the reason he was ignored.

Exactly.

The maths doesn't work though.

You can't know unless you've been told, and you can't have been told if you HAVE been ignored.

Unless the OP worded it wrong and meant bypassed/disregarded.
