To all the older women on here who have been through this and come out of the other side. How do you cope with the changes in your body?

This past six month my skin has become so saggy and any pictures I take to update my profile I delete as I look bloody awful! I'm trying to lose a bit of weight and tone up so I know I am trying to help myself but my confidence is at an all time low.

Awe please don't be sad about it. I have several female friends who are in the same age group and it doesn't stop them from having fun, in fact they seem more horny!!.

Just be yourself xx

The sad thing is, you'll be your own worst critic. I see someone who is going through the same thing and having the same self doubts, the thing is only she can see her 'faults', I can't.

Ultimately, it's her view that counts at the end of the day.

Take care x

I agree with you OP.

I wasnt confident with my body or me before menopause. Over the past few months I'm learning to accept and love myself.

I take pictures and see what I don't like and then try a different angle or pose to see if it better.

My skin is dry naturally so I moisture often and use small amounts at a time.

Saggy skin is due to the drop in Estrogen and Oestrogen levels .... your reproductive system no longer needs it so it gradually reduces.

Unfortunately Oestrogen is also the building blocks of skin and bones hence why many ladies suffer osteoporosis etc later in life

I was put in HRT and really found the benefit from it re my skin etc . Was taken off it in 2012 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer not really happy to stop it. I have noticed since this past two years my skin has got horrid dry crepey and thin I get these bit red blood bruises that old people get . . Guess it’s no longer important as I don’t meet and no longer go to Kestrels in the sun.

No one wants me anymore and I can’t be bothered . Lol .

Can only suggest taking HRT to halt the ageing. Moisturise a lot nivea is great. No Sun ! I was clearly very lucky as I’m a good deal older than you .

Get your thyroid checked too . Mine has been under active for 30 years . Itchy skin dry maybe a symptom. Nivea Q10 firming cream is superb . I get mine brought in from USA in litre bottles lol . Take supplements omega oils etc for hair and skin/ nails . Just have to look after yourself better and watch what you eat . . Sad innit

Choose flattering angles, good (warm) lighting, wear something that you feel confident in.. Use props if you need to give you confidence x

Sorry, I've not read the whole thread, but this!

2 years ago I was starting menopause and my skin went to hell & became creepy & paperlike, and I was depressed & tired. I was tested and shown to be severely deficient in thyroxine & vitamin D.

2 years later, on thyroxine & vitamin D via prescription, I'm post menopausal, my skin is looking good again & I'm a lot happier.

Yes, my body had changed, but I accept it better now.

But I still take about 10 photos before I post one!

You'll get there OP. If you need to chat, inbox me xx
