I have a very long profile out of necessity but in reality it probably takes less than 90 seconds to read, assuming you can read without using your fingers to underline the words. 90 seconds isn't a lot of time to invest really and in the first sentence (which takes 10 seconds to read) pretty much i say the usual I DON'T DO MSN - yet still get - What's your MSN? Why? Answers in a very long essay please sent to British Airways.

I rarely read forumite profiles because I prefer to comment based on what people actually post in the forum, that said because of the thread I started to read yours.

I didn't get past the first couple of paragraphs, didn't get as far as looking at any pictures. In my opinion it's just not a welcoming profile, it seems to be dominated by 'donts'. I stress it's just my opinion, but lists of 'donts' in a semi hostile way (maybe a little strong in your example), are off putting even if the donts do not exclude you.

If you're the kind of person who messages basesd on pictures, you're gonna message anyway regardless because you won't read the profiles.

Just a suggestion, but maybe the tone puts off many of the 'readers' but obviously not the 'lookers'.

maybe its because you mention msn, it puts the thought of msn in their head and they ask!

sometimes this is how the human mind works sub conciousily, i took a look of courses before for working as team leaders in a call centre many years ago, and they taught you alot of stuff like this about choosing words carefully, as people hear certain things and ignore the rest of the sentance

It perplexes me why some seem to be fixated on doing so much outside of Fab.

Like others, I don't do MSN. In fact, I emphasise that I don't chase people's photos outside of Fab, as that's often been a stimulating demand for MSN etc. It may be that people use stuff like MSN as it means they can chat from work, or without someone catching them.

Overall, it's right and proper that you know your boundaries and rules and that others respect them. If they don't, they're not compatible with you.

Well it doesn't take brain of Britain to work it out. They are winding you up! Sure they have read it, they have decided X, Y or Z and though what the hell ask for it. No different from don't walk on the grass signs

Beat me to it....I'm also put off by over-negative profiles....I got about a quarter through before I clicked back onto the thread

I agree with other posters, your profile does seem a tad harsh. This is probably why people read it and then ask for your msn to wind you up.

Like everything on here, all about opinions.
