"Has really made me think about life. I think it’s changed me too. I’m not sure what I want anymore. I’ve always been pretty sure and straight forward in what I want. I’ve stayed away from here for the past few months as I don’t think this is really for me. I don’t want a relationship either. I actually like working from home and not going out much which is worrying as i’m usually very social! I’m mostly positive but have had quite a few wobbles lately! Just interested in how it’s affected others really. " Sending a hug of empathy x

"I hope you discover what you want out of life Nora . For me it's been an emotional rollercoaster with joy , sadness, and everything in between " Yeah that last sentence pretty much sums it up. I’m not unhappy by any means, I think it’s just really made me think about life. Could be to do with turning 50 too!

"I think it's similar for everyone, especially single people living alone. We've all had time to ourselves, and self reflection tends to kick in at some point. Being involved in this lifestyle tends to go in peaks & troughs anyway, but during lockdown I feel as thought everything has been put under the microscope and often we seem to want to look elsewhere for answers. The key is finding your tribe within the circles you've chosen to circulate. I also recommend not having too much of a set agenda about what you want (within your own guidelines) as this is prohibitive and leads to dead-ends. Lockdown has changed all of us I'd suggest. Some not for the better." So wise

I’m definitely missing that.

"It's been up and down for me, definitely had times reflecting on life in general and where I feel I'm at and heading. I am sure many whether single or in a relationship will have had similar contemplations." It really makes you think how you thought nothing of Friday nights out with the girls and weekends away etc. It was just the norm. I swear I’ll never take anything for granted again!

"I'm taking it as just another journey, is it the one I hoped for no, but it's lead to other prospects which wouldn't have happened normally. I am holding onto the social side in my heart though as that's a big part of me and utilising my drive for adventure into other projects instead x" Yes. I like this

Yes, I totally agree, I do miss nights out with the girls I think and hope most people will be the same in not taking simple things for granted.

"I've done a lot of self reflection in this period OP, and for me it's clarified things, made me realise who and what are important to me, and who I've been wasting time and energy on with little in return. I've certainly had moments of sadness and loneliness, but I've got some wonderful people in my life who have wobbled my head and pulled me through those times, sometimes kicking and screaming, but they've got me through. Overall I'm feeling very positive about the future, wherever it may lead me. I despise working from home though " this Lily. Xx

"For me, it’s been transformative in many ways, and I’ve used the time to work on myself, but it’s also been extremely lonely at times, and I’ve struggled with being single. It’s made me realise how much I appreciate intimacy and connection. " Yes, this is what I have found. Prior to Covid, I didn't realise that I missed intimacy, probably because I kept myself busy, but being alone for long periods does give you time to reflect on what you want or miss.

"I've always enjoyed my own company which is lucky since I've been home alone for 10 months - that said, this is getting a bit much now even for me. Craving touch, human contact, love, affection, someone to wake up with, someone to share things with, talk to.....I had a conversation with a saucepan the other day." Yes. Same. I love my own company! I have missed this as I haven’t really had it. I think that’s affected me an awful lot. I think it’s been just as difficult for folk on their own as it has for those of us who have had no time alone.

"I’ll keep this short: my life has hardly changed much at all as what lockdown brought to millions (mostly staying in and hardly any contact with others) has been my normality for over a decade. If anything it made it even worse as I had to school my extremely anxious SEN kid and had to wait on my (now) working-from-home husband and my kid 24/7. Oh anf if anyone wants to ask about mental health... what mental health? " I do get that too and I agree nobody can understand unless they’re going through that also. Believe me I feel your pain x

My little rescue dog has kept me sane - having someone to get up for, take out on walks and give lots of cuddles to has helped so much.

"I've not really focused on covid last year, it's only just starting to wear me down now. As a blasé positive person feeling how I finally do now, it's made me realise how many have felt for a very long time. For me, last year was a discovery of self, learning about myself, feeling new emotions and finding special people. " Yes I agree. It’s only the past couple of weeks that I’ve started wobbling a bit. I was ok before. I think it’s because I had it in my mind that it will all be a lot better come the new year and I can start making plans etc. It actually looks like it’s going to be a lot worse for a while x

"This last year during covid has been both hard and amazing at the same time. I've met a couple of amazing people just before it all began and those friendships have made my time during it all not just bearable but very positive. Things change though and move on, its worn people down to the point that its hard to cope with things that would otherwise be quite normal. It has been people rather than covid that has made me realise what I want from life and found out a lot more about myself than I ever realised before." Oh yes for me it has had plenty of good points. Spent more time outdoors with the kids. Just seeing my small community pull together and all the help they are offering the elderly etc. I’ve got to know the neighbours a lot better. It’s not all been bad x
