Question of height

Just saw a post regarding a filter for searching by height.

What do you think ?

As a male, 5'7", over 50 that'll be another nail in the coffin for me, I know how fab works for males and I'm ok with it

I think if implemented it will be a popular feature.

Bliss

Some women are bothered by height some are not, same as men though really on women's height.

It would be very helpful though to narrow down searches easier

The problem with filters based on description/interests etc is they can be easily beaten.

People will just change their height to be able to message.

couple, us we him her.

I do think that the search criteria should be explanded as should person description on profile.

Since being on here one of the most repeated phrases used on here is " personal preference"

So with that in mind we should be able to edit our search criteria to get as close as possible to an exact match to meet our" personal preference"

I hope that this makes sens

I think it's to do with dating where men don't want to be seen out with a fat bird, and women don't want to be seen with a short man.

Disclaimer - I am actually a fat bird before anyone says my comment is unkind.

. I can understand your frustration similar to you I am 5’9 and I will be 53 in 3 weeks time and can’t accommodate. However my way around with some success is to attend a club , spa and socials and that would be my advice to any male regardless of age that can’t accommodate get out there and show the Fabs community what a top man you are.

It's a fair point, but I'd like the option to find women I don't have to bend down to kiss. Even if only to perve at their profile.

Most probably not...

But I've had more than one guy request I don't wear heels on a meet...and I'm only 5ft5...some guys prefer a woman to be shorter than them.

I know a few who prefer very tall ladies too.

I'm big and I'm 5.8. I would feel uncomfortable with someone under my height. I don't need filters on fab, because I look at it anyway. It would simply make things easier.

Same like guys prefer skinny girls. Even tho there is no filter, they won't meet me.

On a different site I used to be on I stated my height as I have on here, 6'0", as that is what I am.

Met a lady for a social coffee and her first comment upon meeting was "oh, you're taller than I thought you'd be".

I said that my height was on my profile and asked if she'd read it

"Ah, but all men lie about their height, so didn't think you'd be any different" was her reply!

Something like this will only serve as incentive for more people to be untruthful about the details they place on their profile. Enough people lie about their age already to bypass filters.

Wouldn't be surprised if more complaints began being heard about individuals turning up to a meet and clearly not fitting the bill according to filters.

I don't think anything changes for you now. People who are not interested in men of your height range can ignore your profile by using the search itself instead of having to see your profile and then ignoring because of height.

It’s not a case of you’re not fun etc. I get a bit annoyed when people call it heightist and people have really fallen out with me in the past on here over it. It’s my issue not theirs. I’m tall and I hate being taller than a man. I’ve never liked being tall, it’s the one and only thing I’d change about myself. Hate it when people get upset and have a go at people over it. Like I said it’s totally my problem not theirs x

I’m super tall and I have no issue dating/shagging/snogging shorter men. If I fancy someone I fancy someone, their height is not an issue.

So whilst it might seem that most women don’t want to tower over men, there will always be some women who don’t care about that. So focus on that

Personally I appreciate I may not be to everyone’s taste. I’m super tall, fat, have body hair and I’ve got a big nose.

But I love my height. It’s a family heirloom. My weight is what it is, my body hair is just hair and my nose has never got mistaken for a ski slope.

There is someone for everyone.

I love wearing very high heels and I'm often taller than partners in them. Doesn't bother me at all but it's a huge mood killer to be asked not to wear them by a man because of his insecurities.

I wish this was true. I'm not even that tall and I've had men ask me not to wear heels.

I don't mind people wearing heels. Most women don't want to tower over their man though. Short people can be fun too though so don't write us all off!

I don't see 5'10" as tall, but I suppose it is. Especially in heels. Do you think about footwear in relation to who you're hanging out with?

Yes. I like heels but won’t wear them if it makes me taller. Having said that I probably wouldn’t meet someone under 6ft anyway x

You're reminding me of some idiot reporter asking Nicole Kidman how she felt about just having split up with Tom Cruise. She said "at least I can wear heels now""

Haha. It doesn’t bother a lot of people though, like the lady who commented above. That’s great and shows we’re not all the same, it just happens to be one of the things that’s important to me.

Being 6ft I have always found smaller women 5 to 5.4 really sexy, saying that I would not have an issue getting it on with a woman taller than me,

If I'm into them height wouldn't bother me in the slightest

Some people don’t like overly tall or short people dependant on there height so could work but don’t see the point myself as it’s the person not there height I go for

People have preferences OP - just like some women prefer an older man..

Nothing you can do about height - except find the ones you fit their preference.

For people to ask women not to wear their preference of shoes is a bit odd, that wouldn't even cross my mind.

Wear what you like and feel comfortable is what I say

"Thought this was a swingers site, for fun and sex. Not a place to meet my 'forever' dream partner. "

A library is a place for books but it happens.

Are you only meant to meet partners on dating sites, with that being it's specific purpose? If so and you didn't meet on a dating site then you did it wrong.

"Don’t know why hight matters so much anyway

Can always remember my mates mum used to say we all the same hight anyway when laying down

I think it's to do with dating where men don't want to be seen out with a fat bird, and women don't want to be seen with a short man.

Disclaimer - I am actually a fat bird before anyone says my comment is unkind."

Quite possibly true but this isn't t*nder!

For you, maybe not for others!

I like having someone to look up to, and at 5'10, its harder to find than you think

"Just saw a post regarding a filter for searching by height.

What do you think ?

As a male, 5'7", over 50 that'll be another nail in the coffin for me, I know how fab works for males and I'm ok with it "

surely it would depend on which shoes a lady was wearing?

Would you mind retracing that generalised nonsense

I consider myself neither tall or short just me

And some ladies seem to like that too

I have no idea why people are concerned with another's preference

It's because of what height signifies, it signifies strength, also some think it correlates with a guy's manhood etc.
