I would never just go up to someone and shout fab straight away, if I were to recognise them. If it's someone I fancy I might try the old fashioned flirting, bit of eye contact and a smile can work miracles.

Would I mind if someone comes up to me? If he looks like Chris Hemsworth or Karl Urban probably not, but even then it depends where I am and who I'm with.

Discretion's the name of the game here really, so don't think it's ever a smart move to go straight up to people and mention fab x

I know a couple of people from their fab profiles. I live in a small town, I’ve no doubt they know me too.

So far I’ve not been recognised, I wouldn’t approach anybody in an inappropriate place (school playground at drop off for instance)

I’d send them a fab message if I was tempted to do anything, but that would only be if I actually wanted to meet them not because I knew them.

We've been recognised from fab before when we were together in a bar.

We were only wearing towels and the bar was Chams....

Spotted a few from sites many years ago. Would never say anything without confirmation through the site to be allowed. They could be with family, a different partner, friends, colleagues etc. To put somebody in that spot to make them having to think up a lie of who you might be, or where you knew them from. It's not very considerate.

However, a greeting through the site would and put the choice back in their hands to reply, take things further, ignore, block etc.

Many have swinging as a completely separate life. Merging their worlds can get messy. Especially when you've forced that conversation without consent (albeit by accident, but it could be bad for them).

I logged in the other day to a load of messages from someone claiming to be my neighbour and telling me to go look out my kitchen window etc. I don't know if he did actually think I was someone else, or if that's just what he messages everyone to try creep them out/prompt a reply but seemed like a weird tactic either way

I wouldn't want anyone to approach me outside, unless we were really quite friendly by that point but just hadn't had the chance to meet yet. Even then it'd probably freak me out in most circumstances.

It wouldn't be well received if some stranger approached me in public to point out they'd seen me on here. One guy did it once when I was out shopping with my Mum. He got a rather frosty response

Most drop me a message on here if they've seen me out and about.

Just because someone has their face on here, doesn't mean it's acceptable to approach them when they're out. I recognise people from clubs/parties all the time. I wouldn't dream of letting on to them in public.

I think messaging someone on here to say ‘did I see you in Asda last night’ is acceptable. Approaching someone in Asda to say I’ve seen you on Fab probably isn’t.

I know not everyone would mind that but I think it’s best to air on the Sadie of caution.

Seen a few people i recognised, i just block them, i wouldn't trust them to be discrete.

I also nearly met a random local when a planned meet disappeared into the ether with the line - i'll be right back.

I'd been chatting to the meet for weeks, he'd been pressing all the right buttons, so when i finally got some free time i waited until i had few hours left and little options.

The local was still online at two in the morning on a sunday and said he could accom. I never meet locally i want this side of my life to stay private. But i was so horny by this point i threw caution to the wind.

He couldn't accom that night so nothing came of it.

Week later, he uploaded a face picture onto public by mistake.

I worked with him.

He had actually used his initials and last name. (Can't believe i never noticed that)

He deleted it later in the day, but damage was done.

Two months later his wife found about all of this, outed him all over facebook, most of the work knew, he dragged a few surprises down with him as well.

Two weeks later, his mrs took him back, it's all forgotten. One of his surprises now divorced, no access to kid, major issues..

Yes, i know, don't play around etc. But most single men on here aren't single, don't kid yourself.

But that re-inforced my policy of no local meets.

I'm also very careful not to give anything away on a photo.

Depends on their approach. If they come across as being creepy, indiscreet and pestery I wouldn't be too happy. If they are polite and discreet then fine. However, I would not discuss fab with them at the time as I feel that is inappropriate. What I really dislike are those that don't say anything at the time then send you a creepy message saying they have seen me at work or one Asda, Tesco, town etc and not saying or describing who they were. Also, never approach people if they are with family or friends, that definitely is a step too far.

I think I’d pretend to be shocked someone was impersonating me online

"Someone messaged on here to say they’d seen me out walking bare in mind I was with a friend and our daughters.. Then asked what did I order we went to a lil pub for lunch after the walk"

Isn’t too cold to go out walking naked?

If you are being respectful you wouldn’t message at all and just let them get on with their life

One of my old bosses made a comment about recognising me on here by one of my tattoos trying to put me on a back footer in a conversation we were having. Made a comment that meant he must be a member too, to have searched me out and basically owned and took pride in my being on here. He didn’t know how to reply to that and just stormed off.

Nice one. I've always said that to 'out' me, means 'outing yourself'

I thought I recognised somebody from work on another site (AFF). Anyway, we met up and she was one of the secretary’s. Best anal sex I’ve ever had!
