Hi all, happy new year.

I have noticed that there seem to be quite a few "singles" on here that say they are attached. Some profiles clearly state whether their partners do or don't know about their swinging exploits.

There are some that don't say if they do or don't. My question is, when is it OK to ask if their partner does or doesn't know.

Personally I think it's ok to ask from the get go. However recently briefly talked to someone who said it was none of my business and took major offence to me asking straight away.

I think if you have questions they need asking straight out. If people take offence that's their prerogative and they needn't answer

You should ask when you feel that you want to. There is no right or wrong time.

Also bear in mind that you won't always get honest answers either though.

I agree, from the get go. I have no issues answering questions about my relationship situation. I think those who would take offense are looking for someone who it makes no difference to and therefore wouldn't have questions so you may upset some but they're people you wouldn't be compatible with anyway so no real harm done .

Agreed.

I ask even if there's no mention in the profile. Unfortunately things can't be taken at face value and single often means cheating.

Norfuck! / Lincolnshire

I included a comment within my profile about being upfront from the start.

I always ask too!

I think that asking early on is perfectly acceptable, as it's clearly important to you.

If they don't like the question they are probably not for you.

Behind the bike shed!

We feel ethical non-monogamy requires trust between all parties. If one of those parties is lying to someone who should be able to trust them with anything, then how can we trust them?

I always answer questions about my wife.

It’d be nice for once if someone actually asked about me.

I'm normally up front about it even before I'm asked, if it's a deal breaker for them then I move on

I’d assume people who get in touch with me are clever enough the understand my husband knows when I mention it I’m in an open marriage on my bio and I don’t feel the need of talking further.

If we wanted to involve eachother to our conversations with others , we would have a joint account in websites.
