Posters Appreciation

Quick question.

Am I the only one who thinks a like button would be good for comments on the Forum.

Regularly I read comments that I agree with but have no way of showing my appreciation.

A comment may make me laugh, make me think, cause me to agree or broaden my horizons but unless I specifically comment quoting it the poster will never realise how popular the point is that they've raised.

This and the fact that it may make some posters know that their comments aren't just being ignored & vanishing into a void.

But then again maybe it's just me...

Or we could just talk without having to try to be liked? That would just become another popularity contest in my opinion. I like that the forums don't have this, this is where I come to relax and just say what I want!

Tis why I'm keeping off the best poster award threads etc.

I feel terrible at missing people out, so I keep quiet in that regard

Not saying don't talk. Talking is very welcome but so many replies in so many threads makes it impossible to reply to every single one.

Just thought it would be good to know that people's post aren't being ignored even if they aren't directly replied to.

I was on another site where they had this and whilst it is mainly used in the positive, if there is a forum tiff and things get snarky, it’s not nice to see the snarky comments getting shitloads of likes.

It would be nice when you come to a thread late and there are loads of lovely posts and you can't thumbs up them all without it getting silly

I agree. I 'Like' many posts but can't reply to every post with a for obvious reasons.

I think it would be good to see this in the open.
