Favourite 80's music video

couple, us we him her.

The 80's was a fantastic time to live in although at the time it didn't seem like it.

Cheesy nightclubs where at their peak, fashion was varied to say the least, politics was pretty nuts, Thatcher, Reagan, Gorbachev.

Miami vice, moonlighting, Frankie goes to Hollywood and of course the music video.

Every release had to have an accompanying video.

Some extremely elaborate and more Like a movie " Michael Jackson's Thriller for example"

Right down to low budget ones and some despite a huge budget absolutely shockingly bad.

So what would be your favourite from this era good or bad ,cheesy or just brilliant.

Thriller for me was just the peak of an over the top production the hype and marketing was just on a different level, however it was backed up by an awesome song and the video was pretty damn awesome.

Peter Gabriel's sledgehammer another iconic video once again awesome song.

Most of the really bad ones seemed to come from euro pop.

For the worst I give you,

Modern Talking: brother Louie.

Just worth a look.

Disclaimer I can't be responsible for the song staying in your head all day.

Despite being a child of the late 90s, I spent my teens in love with 80s rock, the sleazier the better.

The video for ‘Prime Mover’ by Zodiac Mindwarp & the Love Reaction (directed by Ade Edmonson!) was a particular fave.

It, uh, hasn’t aged well.

A-ha's Take On Me was a clever video and something that hasn't been done before at the time.

Visage - Fade to Grey and Bowie's - Ashes To Ashes had hreat makeup looks. The Blitz Kids always looked interesting.

I'm a big Bowie and Kate Bush fan so I always liked their music videos.

BRIDPORT

Sledge Hammer from Peter Gabriel was a good one as was Addicted to Love from Robert Palmer. Can’t think why that one sticks in my memory
