Time for a new playground!

Work that is

The fun has gone out of the job, and I cannot pretend I am optimistic about the future of the place where I work anymore.

Since I am in a position where people look to me for guidance and support, I am finding it harder and harder to stay positive and cheery.

Hence I made the decision it is time to look for a new playground today, and have started to dig my tunnel

I feel better now that I have made that decision, as a dark cloud had been hovering over me for the past few weeks ever since my deputy informed me she is relocating up north

Wish me luck in finding a new playground soon please!

I have to serve 3 months notice, and am planning to hand in my notice after my holiday in mid Nov 09

Kent to Surrey

A position that takes some gumph without a job to go to! I hope it works out for you.

The climate is improving (slowly) and work is turning up (people on here are getting work after long periods without), and Feb is a good hiring time traditionally.

I myself have had notice in my job for the end of the year, so don't get much choice. but I do get a pay off worth a few bob

I just like you now need to find a new option. Very temped with doing something of my own but options are still limited.

I suspect I will be contracting for a bit as I look

As I said, I hope it works out for you, we often know in our hearts when its time to go; it's just very hard to step into the unknown!

Very true about stepping into the unknown.

I have a track record of jacking in the job without another one lined up.

Once I was un-employed for 3 months because of bad planning. I was going through a divorce, and I had to get out quickly as my ex-hubby worked there too (we met at work), and it was proving to be very difficult emotionally for us both, even though it was all very amicable

Update!

I informed my boss my intention to leave, showed him my draft resignation letter, and he was not surprised.

He even said he would forward me a job that came his way, as it is more suited for me due to my experience. Bless him!

He strongly advised me not to resign until I have another job to go to, as advised by the colleagues whom I have already told.

Feel better now the cat is out of the bag
