Don't use any of those lip balms that come in a stick. Get a cream in a tube of shell out on a tube of Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, it smells awful but does the trick. Use a dry toothbrush on them very gently before you apply at night

I got addicted to carmex. If I didn't put it on, my lips would chap up really bad, unless I put more on.

I had to go Carmex cold turkey to get rid of the addiction and my lips went back to normal.

Didn’t this have an ingredient that’s toxic to the nervous system? I’d have a check before buying off eBay at a crazy price.

I have always found the little tins of Vaseline best - just keep on re-applying it throughout the day. Don’t lick your lips or chew them and after a few days you will notice the difference. I prefer it to other lip balms because it is much cheaper, effective and I don’t like flavoured balms.

Current cheapest Buy It Now price is £36.99 (used to retail at £2.69). The others are either auctions or different products.

It's been out of production since early this year. They had to change where they were manufacturing it (they won't confirm or deny this is anything to do with Brexit) and apparently something has gone wrong. They're adamant that it hasn't been discontinued, but also say they don't know when it will be coming back.

Their Facebook page is quite funny – every single thing they post is immediately swamped in comments from people begging them to bring it back.

Like the posters above, it's the only product I've ever found that meaningfully helps my lips.

Got half a tube lying in the back of the bathroom cabinet, didn’t realise it was so valuable.

I’m sure if it’s not been taken off sale because of an ingredient you will find it in the little chemists or online ones.

Hundreds or thousands of us have been turning the country upside down looking for the stuff since the spring. I've come across people paying through the nose to have the last few tubes imported from overseas.

Again, just look at the comments on anything posted to the BlistexUK Facebook page. There's none out there to be had, and a lot of people are very upset.

"Hi [NAME], we know there has been a lot of concern about the Relief Cream and the Cold Sore Cream. Rest assured that both products have not been discontinued. Circumstances have forced us to change the manufacturing location, and unfortunately, as a result, we are not able to produce and supply stock.

Or it could be the weather and dry lips....

Usually the most obvious reason is the correct one too.

Or maybe its my left butt cheek itching that's causing my lips to be dry

You're completely right about all other Blistex products. Their Intensive Moisturiser is especially sticky and useless. Ugh.

The only other product I've found that comes anywhere near is Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm (yellow plastic tube, red lid), but it's a pretty poor substitute really. I wish there was a better answer.

Carmex is good as it has some essential oils which help some. But just a smear of good honey and brushing with toothbrush circular moves.. might help if done regularly.

If you have a habit of licking your lips constantly that won't help

I second O' Keeffes. I work outside year round so my lips get really abused by the elements and this is the only chap stick that works, and I've tried them all.

I know you should avoid lip balms with fragrance, hyaluronic acid and the flavoured types, also people often eat or lick the balm off their lips which obviously makes things worse. Maybe try applying a lip repair cream like Aquaphor lip repair cream before sleeping so the product gets chance to work as your not drinking, eating and touching your lips.
