"How much do you generally drink each night? Minimum of a bottle of wine. X " Best of luck in getting the help you need. Recognising the issue is the first step

"Do i have a drink problem? I drink every night. If i miss a night i feel irratable and not in a good mood. Im d*unk 2 or 3 times a week. My hubby says i have a drink issue, but still encourages me. Advise please? " I’d advise you to seek professional advice on this, but you’re above the guidelines for maximum alcohol intake

"How much do you generally drink each night? Minimum of a bottle of wine. X " Problem with wine is it’s rude to not finish the bottle once it’s open. Probably yes, but it depends, is it it affecting your health, work or relationships? Do you feel bad and/or lie about how much you drink to those close to you?

"Can you say no to a drink? Is part of your life being dictated by alcohol? If so yes. I'd also be careful of a partner who encourages drinking. There's helplines out there, including NHS. Only you know the answer OP. Hope that helps. ![]() This!

" With many low level d*unks, they are completely unaware of the impact on family and friends and will find similar people who support the habit and encourage the behaviour

"If your husband encourages you then he is the problem." I don't agree. He is a problem, but not the problem. The problem and solution lies with the person taking the drink, IMO. Anyone that loves you would encourage you to seek help, if and when you think you need it.

Not meaning to be rude or harsh but getting d*unk two or three times a week at your age is not good. I suspect you already know that? Actually, it’s not good at any age. Don’t blame your hubby - only you are responsible for what you put in your body (snigger) only you can make the change.

"If you are worried, why don't you set yourself a goal of having a few dry nights a week? Maybe 50:50 through the week? And try it for a few months to sustain it... Or even do the dry January challenge, where you'll have lots of support and encouragement from others doing it " Agree with this. Doing something like this should help answer your initial question. If you find you can do it - there may be no problem. If you find you can't - then it's likely there's a problem.

"Cut down slowly xx" This. It's very important you don't just go dry for January. It can cause serious issues if you are dependent on alcohol. I have unfortunately seen what happens through a work colleague. It was horrific

A couple of the replies on this thread although well intentioned, really won't help.

"If your husband encourages you then he is the problem." Love the way it’s his fault! I would recommend accepting that there is a problem. Do a day with no alcohol, then try two etc. Take it one day at a time. If people around you are drinking, maybe go somewhere else. Try and replace the drinking with something constructive. Alcohol is a slippy slope, you can have a problem long before you realise it. Be strong and positive.

"It’s easy to open a bottle and feel like you should finish the whole bottle. I’ve cut down on my alcohol content by buying a bottle of alcohol free Malbec from Marks & Spencer and a normal bottle of Malbec too. I dilute the alcohol version with the non alcohol wine. So I’ve now cut my alcohol content by half. My drinking was never really a problem but it was creeping up during lockdown and some recent tough times" Drinking alcohol can just become routine sometimes and before you know it you’re drinking a little too much
