What are you most grateful for this Christmas time? Can be a gift or a memory.

For me I’m so grateful for technology and that I was able to Skype my dad and thankful for his amazing key workers and care staff in his nursing home who arranged a call so I could see him and wish him a merry Christmas (cant visit due to covid). That was my best gift this year.

Let’s hear yours. X

I'm grateful that my youngest daughter is safe this Christmas and that I got to see some of my family and friends in the last 2 days.

Also grateful for WhatsApp as it meant I got to video chat with someone very special today that's 350 miles away.

Full English breakfast in the morning I would imagine and after today I had a good excuse for a few whiskeys but not too many.

Bloody hell that’s not good. Sorry to hear that. We all had what we now think was covid this time last year.

Oh yes biscuits are great.

Tomorrow I’ll be having savoury ones with cheese.

I'm grateful for the amazing time I had with my son.

It was a fantastic opportunity to have quality time with him and neither of us were disappointed.

I wished my daughter could have been here too but Covid prevented that....

Great Christmas though

So pleased for you. Family is what it is all about. I’d have loved to have seen my mum in person but rules are rules. X

Agreed ... I saw my Mum last Christmas ...then covid happened.

I'd love to see her but.... She's in her 80's ....

I don't want to risk anything, for anyone x

Must admit I did pop round the grandparents but hand gel was used social distancing and masks were worn. Was hard as they wanted to hug me but I had to be strict. It will have been so hard for the older generations today. X

This is a good call, I might join you

And yes. I was one of first covid people here, it nearly killed me. But most annoyingly I didn’t have some form of mutated experience to create a superhero so now I have to put my underwear back under my jeans...

Oh yes biscuits are great.

The back, or just the front doors? Asking on behalf of a concerned neighbour.

Like you OP - technology. We had a few zoom calls with family and had a lot of fun. It was so good to hear loved ones laughing and see them smiling.

I'm glad that we were able to spend Christmas with my partner's family. Even though we couldn't stay with them for as long as we planned it was refreshing to see them after a year

My family and good health. As others have said, the technology to be able to see those that couldn't spend time with as normally would have.

I'm grateful we had a normal Christmas to be honest. My Dad (lives alone) joined us, as is the norm. The only difference to the season was instead of having a get together at my brother's on Christmas Eve, he called in to see us very briefly on Christmas Day, before lunch with his daughters.

The biggest difference was in my Dad himself - his mental state has evidently declined and he admitted to being disorientated in our house. He's stayed here and been a frequent visitor in the 12yrs we've lived here. I don't think he'll remember much about Christmas this year. He'd forgotten it had been Christmas Day yesterday, until he looked at the date on today's paper
