Happy Place

Solihull

Sometimes it's the small things in life that bring temporary happiness and calm.

Today mine is a mug of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows , warm toast with cold butter and blueberry jam while watching the holiday on the buses film.

Room in my blanket fort if it's your idea of mini heaven.

What's your "small" happy place that's not money related

There are some lovely walks where I live. Whether out with the dogs or on my own, walking through woodlands or hill ramblings taking in the sights and sounds

There and to the left a bit

A long walk in the country or better still by the sea will always be a happy place for me, where I am at one with the world and can lose myself in thought

Or listening to music again I can lose myself completely in it - music has the power to soothe, to uplift, make you smile, make you reflect and so much more - definitely in a happy place when it accompanies me

Now that's an awesome happy place, hard not to feel chilled with a dog snuggling you

By the sea whatever the weather. The sound and sight of the sea clears my head and calms me so much.

There are two.

Drinking tea and reading a good book in a coffee shop. Just watching the world go by.

Walking on the beach at my parents caravan site. I found a sense of peace there I’ve never experienced before or since.

Winn Hill in Derbyshire (UK), with my stupid dog, my slightly less stupid children, and my slightly more stupid husband, walking in the winter wrapped up warm.

We have pics of us in the same lovely spots showing how the kids have grown, and hubby getting slightly more salt n pepper in his hair as the years have passed.

Being at Brands Hatch circuit.

So many memories there, I can spend ages walking round the place and every part has a special moment.

That’s my place, I believe part of my heart and soul are dedicated to Brands Hatch.

Mine used to be a bridge over the M1 in the early hours of the morning just watching the world drive by.

Now its time spent with those I choose to, not those I have to
