When you listen to the shipping forecast which ones do you cheer when they read them out ?!

Mines FitzRoy, Biscay, Faeroes but always crease up when they say Dogger, but hey, that’s just me.

I’ve always looked forward to a visit to m&s.

I like their selection of cardigans.

Here’s a reminder of the shipping areas, obviously big shipping fans won’t need this, but the more casual shipping observer may need a reminder.

Viking, North Utsire, South Utsire, Forties, Cromarty, Forth, Tyne, Dogger, Fisher, German Bight, Humber, Thames, Dover, Wight, Portland, Plymouth, Biscay, Trafalgar, FitzRoy, Sole, Lundy, Fastnet, Irish Sea, Shannon, Rockall, Malin, Hebrides, Bailey, Fair Isle, Faeroes and Southeast Iceland.

The shipping forecast always reminds me of the original Fog film, almost something chillingly snug hearing the shipping forecast, imagining the rough seas, whilst snug and warm with a cup of hot choc..bliss

I find it very calming when I’m in the bath, even though I haven’t a clue what it means.

Under the Duvet

The Shipping Forcast is very soothing.

I like Cromarty best.

However in Liverpool they pronounce it Cro-Marty which obviously is very wrong

Easy done. Plymouth is my nearest, but mine goes limp when it’s mentioned, not my favourite shipping area.

My uncle had a little yacht (27’) moored off Anglesey. I wanted a constant breeze so we could have good sailing. But a force ten would have done. Anything to escape my life.

My ex and I used to live on the Isles of Scilly. Sole was our favourite shipping area.

We liked it that much that I painted her a huge painting of it and called it after our favourite place.

I put it up over the fireplace. She used to spend hours just gazing at my "Scilly - Our Sole".

Derry

German Bight used to called Heligoland

Rockall, Malin, Hebrides. Northhwest gale 9 to storm 11, veering west, severe gale 9 to violent storm 11. Rain, then squally showers. Poor, becoming moderate.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Cromarty - it's nice to say.

German Bight - I am reminded of a delicious neck-nibbling German when I hear it.
