Your best gig ever...

Tin town

Following on from the album theme... Glad to find so many music loving soul mates...

And in the absence of any live music for so long... Gigs are things I miss the most in all of this.

So what was your best ever gig (OK top 5) and why?

Mine...

Wycombe Town Hall... The jam 1977...my first ever gig... I was underage, excited beyond reason, 1st in the queue and they blew my socks off supported by the new hearts and the jolt.

A close second was miles kane at the institute in Birmingham a few seasons ago... The atmosphere was electric, energetic, great tunes, great venue

Any memories folks?

OK so you might know the answer to the year on this... Motorhead at Wycombe Town Hall again... Took my first ever girl hoping for a kiss or whatever I did as a teen... Tried to impress her by sticking my head in the bass bin.... (you can guess the rest). I'm pretty sure they were borrowing pink Floyd's tour PA as they were supporting them.... Probably 77 maybe 78?

There and to the left a bit

Madness - Finsbury Park 8th August 1992 - their first gig in 6 years, everything about that day was special, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife when they hit the stage and proceeded to literally cause an earthquake which registered on the Richter scale

The Beat - Hammersmith Palais - October 1982 - The Alarm and Aztec Camera were support, the latter walked off as they didn't go down well so the headline act played longer and blew the roof off.

Green Day - Hyde Park - July 2017 - absolutely superb gig, had the audience in the palm of their hand from start to finish, made all the more special by it being my daughters favourite band and first time of seeing them.

Muse - Etihad and Emirates - 2014 - amazing show, the sound, the stage set, the theatrics - any Muse gig is so much more than just a gig, it's an experience.

Biffy Clyro - Dublin and Belfast - November 2016 - wasn't a fan before the first gig in Dublin, but they blew me away so much, got tickets for Belfast the next night where ended up on the barrier and got blown away again.

Madness - Light Bar, London - May 2009 - was the launch party for their new album, in a small intimate venue for invited guests only and such a special experience to be privileged to be there.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I only do comedy gigs, not music, but one of the best I've been to featured Ian D Montfort, Tom Binns and Ivan Brackenbury. It was a triple headliner and I was laughing so hard my ribs hurt. The best part is, that all 3 acts are the same person.

Foo fighters at the O2 in 2007. Couldn't hear anything properly for two days afterwards! Serj Tankian of System of a Down fame was the supporting act and Queen were the special guests. Unbelievable gig!

Being a Welsh girl listening to my favourite Welsh band in my birthtown the day after Wales beat Belgium was incredible!

I was thinking of all the venued gigs I’d been to trying to rack my brains for which was the best but Download 2006, it was my first year at a festival and saw 28 bands. The likes of Metallica and Tool, I mean guns n roses were kinda there. Yep download 06

I think I was around the same area, I was pretty pickled by that point. The weather helped make that a great year too. I went the following two years but 06 was the best out the 3

I think you ended up at the back if you hadn't camped out the front all day Any of you remember the insane bottle throwing war that was happening while they were delayed?

Same, all day drinking in the sun will do that

I went in 04 and 06, the line ups haven't been so great in the last couple of years, but I'd still love to go again once the virus pisses off...

I was once invited to an intimate private gig at The Friars in Barry where Phil Campbell from Motörhead was playing. Was great - although not my usual kind of music!

"Following on from the album theme...

Pearl Jam MSG (the stage actually moved the place was hopping so much.

Cheryl Crow Jones Beach, swimwear and beach balls everywhere, (sexy out)

The Allman Bros band, the beacon theatre, no1 jammed like they did,

The black crows in Dublin, just because it was my first ever gig,

Sasha + Dig Twilo NYC, last Friday of every month back in the day, seriously great gigs,

I'm sure I'll say later I forgot such and such but for now they spring to mind.

"U2 elevation tour 2001, Earls Court.

I don’t do concerts very often at all and this was my first big one. Went with a friend who was a big U2 fan and we camped out to get places inside “the heart” walkway.

Was truly awesome "

I was at that one too. I was crushed on the fence just out side the heart. Cracking show...

Pye Corner Audio supported by Worriedaboutsatan at Soup Kitchen in Manchester a couple of years ago. Dark synths in a dark basement, good beer and freinds. But I could have picked many, many gigs.
