"Great album, but why the Clash for you?" It was a great time in my life, teenage years, massive jam fan.... Loved the energy of the Clash and how they developed merging reggae and before they went overly commercial. Don't think there's a bad track on it. I stick it on and listen through and smile like a loony. Great tunes, evocative, great energy... I could add... All mod cons or live and dangerous or carole Kings tapestry or stiff little fingers or actually urban hymns the verve... God I love music

"Oh, this is a difficult one. So many album are brilliant and have special meanings for me, dont think I could choose just 1. Here are some: Machine head - Burn my eyes (1st album that really for me into Heavy Metal) Bad Religion - Generator (Album and band that got me into Punk rock) The Beatles - St. Peppers (amazing album and groundbreaking due to its imaginative recording and techniques. Theres a great documentary on how they recorded the album) Massive Attack - Mezzanine (Amazing album which really made me appreciate the trip hop genre as well as great live show to follow). " Oh wow I forgot about massive attack... Yeah brilliant album. Funny I wasn't a massive fan of Sgt peppers but have really got into how brilliant it is considering it's what? Nigh on 50 years old recorded on 4 track...

Its hard. I forgot Bob marleys exodus And I lost my cherry to to the records starry eyes.... Still crystal clear memories of singing along to it while impressing the young lady with my moves.... "Lots of Beatles albums. I can't be alone in thinking they were overrated? (I'm aware that living where I do, this is akin to saying I boil babies alive. I just can't stand them!)" Clearly you have/haven't ingested LSD....with a comment like that!!!! Yesterday.....all my troubles seemed so far away....now it looks as thought there here to stay! Within you, without you.....there must be a Beatles song you like? You're a Fabber and a swinger.... surely you must love to 'Come Together?'

"Apologies if this has been done before but just watch a great music program and reminded me of the beatles album revolver.. Which is right up there. What's your best album either for the way it makes you feel, special because you used to put it on and it reminds you of a special time in your life, or simply outstanding song writing and musicianship? I'm probably going to start with London Calling.... The Clash. Fuck me surprised it didn't scrape through to the other side of the record. Now there's a concept kids won't get.... I mean what's the equivalent now of dust on the needle? I'm intrigued there's not so much from the last 10 years people are popping up.... Also really intrigued that most choices seem to be more emotional as they reference special memories than mind blowing musicianship.... Hope you're testing a few out on this beautiful Sunday morning

Hope you're testing a few out on this beautiful Sunday morning" 2p's had so many more uses back in the day - weight for a stylus, holding the ch*ke out in the car, making phone calls - it really was the king of coins!! I think the reason there aren't more recent albums mentioned are probably due to the fact people will usually go with something nostalgic that sparks memories, which needs time to have passed to form that kind of bond - similarly for an album to be considered a "classic" it needs time to be afforded that label, there are some very good albums from the past ten years but I wouldn't name them because I either don't listen to them that often or perhaps am not sure I still will be in another 10, 20, 30 years etc - which is the guide I used for my own list further up. Likewise the thing about people choosing albums with meaning rather than because of their musicianship - there are lots of albums that undeniably have fantastic musicianship, and even by acts I don't particularly like I can appreciate the artistry and skill behind them - but would I place them in any list of my own best albums? No because I don't listen to them. To use an example Dark Side Of The Moon will always feature on "Best Albums" lists and I can appreciate others like it, now to be fair, odd track aside, I've never listened to it but would it be my sort of thing or ever feature on my personal top ten albums? Not at all

Also really intrigued that most choices seem to be more emotional as they reference special memories than mind blowing musicianship.... " Interesting choices and very little modern material? Eminem, 'Music to be murdered by' would be my 2020 go to album. In terms of mind blowing musicianship, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, U2, Michael Jackson, Prince and Bowie produced awesome material. But that list excludes Queen, Radiohead, INXS, Oasis...it's too hard

However as you requested emotionally, it’s my desert island disc album, Dancing with Strangers by Chris Rea. So that’s my one choice and I’ll happily sit back on that beach and listen to every track

"Very tough to nail it down to 1 album. Depeche Mode - Violator But close seconds for me are Yazoo - Upstairs At Eric's OMD - Architecture And Morality Japan - Tin Drum John Foxx - Metamagic Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine Ultravox - Vienna Slayer - Reign In Blood Hawkwind - The Chronicle Of Black Sword Metallica - Master Of Puppets " You named two stone cold classics in there & they're not even your number one choice. Ultravox's Vienna & OMD's Architecture and Morality are both stunning albums.

" Anyone have any good country music recommendations that I may have missed? " Country music is such a large and varied genre you probably need to be more specific. My reccomendation isn't strictly country but suggest you check out "Blackberry Smoke" They are a Southern rock band with heavy country influences. As you like Kelly Jones I think Charlie Starr's vocals will impress you.

" Anything about hard work, alcohol or heart break and I tend to be a sucker. Music to drive a pick up truck to. " Those subjects are the foundation of almost all country songs. Three chords & the truth. Chris Stapleton is another artist with a great voice and "Tennesse Whiskey" is a song that ticks most of those boxes
