I'm just using dumbbells at the moment trying to build my arms up then going to start on my abs. " 90% of getting visable abs is diet. Also doing big compound exercises like deadlift, squat, standing overhead barbell press. These all use a huge amount of core stability. I havent trained abs specifically in years and have solid serratus, and abdominals. When i want them popping i just diet, no extra training. Keep up the training, consistency is key and what you can achieve in just a few months can be seriously impressive.

". Your body looks amazing" Thank you, it's been 3 years in the making and taken a lot of work. The first 6 month and year I ate a strict calorie controlled diet. Exactly the same breakfast lunch and snacks every day and only allowed variation of evening meals and weekend lunchtime. I also did intermittent fasting and only ate between the hours of 11am and 7pm I trained a mixture heavy weight lifting and HITT training. In one year I achieved a ripped 6 packed body naturally. The last two years have been about getting stronger and bigger which involved a lot more food and "supplements" My advice would be to download an app called myfittnesspal and track what you eat. Also its worth hiring a coach or PT. Not just any old PT from your local gym, find someone online who has achieved the goals you want with a proven track record of client results. Remote coaching is fine but at minimum download a proper training plan. Going into the gym or homework out with a plan and goals will help you progress fast.

"Great start Consistency is your friend Some good advice in the posts lots of ways to get where you want to be, keep your goal in mind even when you don't want to do anything do it anyway. Trust me feeling like crap for an hour or two is so much better than feeling like crap all day knowing what you should have done but didn't. Speaking from experience. Keep up the good work long hard road but worth it both mentally and physically " Thanks will do now I can see things starting to happen is making me to keep going.

The work is in the kitchen for sure and it doesn’t make it easier harder in fact. The compounds are great , my training is 80% compounds now due to time I have they give the best bang for the buck and burn a lot of calories Deadlift, deadlift, deadlifts and Squats if nothing else do those. bench press, shoulder press, wide arm pull ups , dips. Occasional planks but to be honest if you run swim or cycle and dead lift you really don’t need to train abs or core

"Nice work OP. I've been trying to get back into shape most of the year but with various lockdowns and gym closures etc it's been slow going. Not to mention the boozy zoom calls accompanied by takeaways! (I'm easily led by booze and food!) I've noticed much more upper body definition recently though and I've started some more structured cardio in the gym (couch to 5k). Think it's going to be March before I get to where I want to be but I'm genuinely excited about the positive impact it'll have on my life. Keep sticking the updates up as it'll be good motivation to keep going. " ok thanks I will keep updating you
