Please can I ask everyone to pray ..

As you know I'm the least religious person on earth but for those of you here that know me , you will know my one companion, my beloved Prince .

He fell down the stairs on Thursday and although he seemed initially fine , he was rushed to the vet today as he was not walking normally.

It appears he has a brain swell and as a result is now completely blind and 90% deaf .

He is on strong drugs but we have been informed that if there is no sign of improvement by Monday then he will have to be put to sleep for his own well being . There is some small hope , so I ask you all to please pray for my beloved pooch as I'm crying typing this .

I know I'm a sarcastic twat most of the time but you all know I have a good heart and life without him will be so sad .

But furry four (or unfurry less/more than 4) legged friends get my attention.

Hope they’re well. Thoughts, prayers and bullet proof backpacks your way. I think that’s how it works. Never done it.

I feel you dude. Lost my best friend 3 month back. The hardest bit was his head was still completely there but his back legs and 1 front had given out to arthritis and he couldn't walk anymore but to his last night was still trying to chase cats. Broke my stoney heart but i was with him till his last breath.

That's made me genuinely really happy that he has you with him. He can still feel you near him even if he can't hear or see you.

Think happy thoughts about the fun times you've had together. I'm sure dogs can sense stuff like that.

The vet wouldnt have administered the drugs if he didnt think there was a chance of survival. The drugs are probably for reducing the swelling. This in turn could lead to restoration of sight and hearing. In the original post he didnt say that the vet said the dog was fucked.

You've made your point, now leave it. You're not doing yourself any favours.

The vet wouldnt have administered the drugs if he didnt think there was a chance of survival. The drugs are probably for reducing the swelling. This in turn could lead to restoration of sight and hearing. In the original post he didnt say that the vet said the dog was fucked.

OP as a 'Dad' to a senior dog, I can only begin to imagine how tough this is for you

My old boy was an adult rescue just over 9 years ago now

We've grown grey together and, he has been my rock as much as I've been his

I will need my Jackie O's on for a good few months when he leaves my side

I hope the next couple of days and the drugs work some magic, along with the prayers of others

You will know what's right and what's not and you will do right by your boy either way

OK a few points

If you are going to call someone out on the forum for what you think is breaking rules you need to do it without breaking the forum rules by abusing him. Lots of people did exactly that without the abuse but more did it with abuse which will get you a ban.

The mans first post although insensitive was not against forum rules

Mods are not online 24 hours a day. Mods have lives of their own and if online won't always be reading the forum

If a mod is online and reading the forum they may not be reading the exact thread that needs looking at. None of us has learnt the art of reading multiple threads as of yet

Lastly, for the people who were banned, I don't make the rules so it is pointless mailing me to rant, please use the contact link at the bottom of the page to ask Admin to review the abuse ban for you.
