So, a quick semi work based conundrum here.

I my line of work there is a lot of gossip

What are fabs views on it? I mean do you love a good water cooler chat?

Do you consider yourself a gossip (we all do it to some extent)?

If you heard gossip about a friend would you tell them or do you think it would just hurt them to know?

It’s a weird thing that we do not really want to admit about ourselves.

In the PR / Media world there is a lot of it, in the forums there is a lot, in news reporting there is loads.

I’m not sure it’s a positive thing, but it’s definitely a human thing

Most of us see ourselves differently to how other people see us.

Even if someone has a self deprecating nature.

We all need to stop worrying so much about what other people think.

And definitely start focusing on ourselves than talking about and judging others.

Everyone gossips to some extent or another. And as long as it isn't malicious or likely to hurt anyone it isn't a bad thing.

And yes and no to telling a friend. It would depend on the gossip and on the friend though for a variety of reasons.

If someone was gossiping about a mate I would say something to the person spreading the gossip 1st. If it was malicious or may hurt my mate in anyway I would let them know. Im unsure of I would tell them who was spreading the gossip, that would depend on the damage to relationships that the fall out could potentially have I suppose.

You and Floro are on the same lines I think, I don’t like to hear it about friends and think I should just ignore it especially if it’s just idle

But the malicious stuff I think needs to be outed and addressed.

Otherwise you end up recounting votes and ruining confidence!

I told my friend because it was his friends doing the gossiping and taking the piss out of him. I got called a twat and he's still mates with them.

He loves a gossip, same as we all do. But I thought it was shit that his friends were taking the piss.

Isn't this the truth! I wish I led half as interesting a life as some of the stuff I've heard about myself

Regarding a friend, I'd correct the person gossiping if I knew it was incorrect, chastise them if it was malicious...and tell my friend
