Ok, so we all know 2020 has been utter bullshit for many, many, many reasons...and for everyone!

But I'm sick of hearing about all that...

What good things have happened this year?

Personally or generally, let's hear what has made you smile this year....

I tried to have a normal year and succeeded. I was lucky.

Went on 4 holidays - timed everything well.

Went to some holiday destinations that would normally have been far far too busy - but due to the situation they were dead. A unique experience.

Some people have had it hard - but most folk just like a moan sometimes.

Saved money due to not going out as much and no frivolous visits to shops buying stuff I don’t need.

Went on holiday a couple of times for some needed sunshine.

Got close with the neighbours and all mucked in to help our elderly ones out. Never really bothered to know them before.

I’ve quite enjoyed the lockdown but recognise it’s not been great for everyone.

Manchester (she/her)

I've been able to focus on what matters most to me, including embarking on a huge project which has been a lifelong ambition

It's brought people's character into sharp focus and been a tremendous filter.

Community solidarity and support, and the depth and breadth of research brought together across the world, has been absolutely inspiring.

I haven't worked for a large part of it

That has allowed me to spend more time with my parents and do stuff with them and for them

They are both late in years and not in the best of health so, whilst it has been tough, it has also been a joy

The downtime at work has, of course, taken its toll on my finances. I'm not skint (old school so always have savings) , but my month to month finances have been tested

My other half has been great and supported me emotionally ref my parents and financially when I needed it too - like the £615 MOT bill

It has made me realise that for the first time in my life, I feel like I am with someone who is in it for 'us' as opposed to them

Under the Duvet

Got to spend time with my kid. Did some creative stuff we probably wouldn't have done otherwise.

The weather was lovely.

Homeworking was ok. Didn't have to commute.Saved mucho money on my travel.

Reconnected with friends and had some great conversations.

Caught up on reading and dvds.

Baked loads.

No one I know died of Covid (although two did of other causes)

People round here were mostly "on message" .

The wildlife in the park and garden have been amazing.

Food in the cupboard, roof over my head.

Yes I've missed the social interaction but all in all I've had worse years.

On a mooch

I’ve not worked all year and not the year out I was expecting to have.

However, I got a lot of quality time with my lad (which was needed) and we are closer than ever.

He struggled during lockdown, lack of school, interaction with his peers, but on the flip it made him realise how important school is and this term he has excelled in his work and term end assessments, his confidence in his ability is finally building; built himself some solid friendships too - it’s good to see him happy, confident and laughing.

Grateful that all my family are well; got to spend quality time with my folks in the summer, which was much needed and will get us through to spring / summer 2021.

My drawing skills got better with so much practice during lockdown, I’ll revisit it again in 2021 but in the meantime I enjoy the ‘draw offs’ with my lad and watching his skills develop

It made me reevaluate what I actually wanted out of life and those wheels are in motion.

2020 not a year to be forgotten but remembered for positive changes that will affect me in 2021 and beyond.

The negatives for me, apart from the obvious disruption and social destruction around us, was two friends leaving the world, and while in way comparable, the dog.

The positives is I've been able to keep working, and financially, it's not been abad year. My job is secure and working from home has afforded new opportunities. But the absolute highlight, of this year and actually many years, was superstar that walked into my life one summers day.

In The Hills

I'm all for finding positives

For me there are quit a few, I am lucky I know (don't get me wrong there has been a lot of negatives as well but I like to focus on the positives)

Pre lockdown I managed to fit in two holidays, one of them to Bruges I had been wanting to go for years and finally got round to it, it didn't disappoint.

For the remainder of the year

It gave me MadHatter

Got to witness my sister get married

Had time to spring clean the apartment and get rid of a lot of junk that was in the store room for the last 14 years

Now have a little private garden area so no longer have to use the communal one

Lost 2 and half stone in second half of year and got fitter, pins in legs are not hurting as much

My eldest and his girlfriend have booked their wedding date

Alice x

What a year this has been for us all, and where can we find positivity..?

My year started with my son coming out a rehab clinic, his depression and an addiction to crack nearly killed him twice late last year. He took my advice finally and made me proud.

In January I was told I was a week away from having my left leg amputated, after eating antibiotics like smarties I'm still dancing on both feet.

In July my son decided to end his own life aged only 27.

For other reasons as close friends know my life is also about to take a new direction next year but to get there I'm crawling through a river of shit...

Its been a roller coaster ride by anyones standards to be sure but there's been support from fab friends thats kept me positive.

I breathe because of Princess Peach and NotSoPosh who've both been there in my darkest hours.

Other friends too have been there for me and to them also I'm eternally thankful.

I'm positive by nature as I'm a cancer survivor but I'm truly humbled by the friends who listened to me cry and still gave me a reason to live.

He who has a why can bear almost any how.

Next year is mine...

There's been a lot of negatives for me however...

Lockdown meant I got to spend three months of quality time with my kids, single working mum I don't get a lot of time with them so that was really lovely to have.

Oh you

You've got this "

You know what you've done and do for me, I'm eternally in your debt

"As much as I got heartbroken and all that, learning the truth was a good thing, coz now I'm not wasting my time, energy and emotion on the wrong person.

I have the BEST group of friends

I learned how to wallpaper and it helped my confidence hugely

You seem happier leaving 2020 than you did at the beginning of it Peach...that pleases me

I really am.

I'm not worrying anymore, I'm not questioning things anymore. I'm not trying to second guess. I know what I'm dealing with.

I just am.

"You just am" because of who you are, nobody no matter what circumstances prevail will ever change that.

Your an angel who didn't realise she has the strength of legions, next year will be yours too...

I've just got a strong moral code and values is all. As long as I've got those, I can hold my head high."

Worcester

This year we discovered this place which has been fun and informative and has got us excited for when things get back to normal.

Who knew that I could find out what size penis women like everyday as well as learning about tow bars and vacuum cleaners. I have also discovered how dangerous sharks, snakes and drop bears are.
