Now you’re an adult do you still expect Christmas gifts? Or are you a grownup about it?

I want...

And I stamp my foot until I get it!!

Honestly, not bothered at all. For me it is all about the kids.

Christmas is theirs.

I’m not that much of a fan of big gifts. I always feel uncomfortable receiving them. I like little thoughtful ones but I’m an emotional emu so always cry if they’re too thoughtful

Nah im not fussed. As long as the kids are happy. My best gift is when every one is fed and happy and wants a nap, leaving me to wash up and drink baileys in peace

Hefty Hideaway

I buy my own gifts, wrap them and make the kid write the label.

I get what I want and feel spoiled rotten all the same. Anything extra from anyone else is a bonus.

As an adult I realise Christmas is horribly expensive and so I’d rather just receive a card with a lovely message.

I actively enjoy receiving gifts. I'm not Eartha Kitt wanting Santa to "slip a sable under the tree" a bar of chocolate wrapped in pretty paper or something someone has made is such a pleasure. I enjoy giving gifts too, especially if it's something a person really wants.

I can't see a problem with enjoying it.

I hate getting gifts because I pretty much never like them. The fault is with me- I don't even know what to buy for myself so how could anyone else.

I derive way more pleasure from giving gifts.

The look on peoples faces.

I’m actually a bit embarrassed when I receive gifts, especially if there’s people watching me open them.

In the middle

The last few years the kids have bought me a few smellies like Dove and a couple of boxes of Maltesers, I don’t need anything so I tell them to just spend a fiver

I enjoy giving thoughtful gifts, and at times "quirky". As someone else said, I'm not really keen on being watched while opening mine.

Cue violins...hardly had any decent Christmas's as a kid due to a very poor household in a very poor community and didn't know any different so it's made me into somebody pretty unneedy or aspirational towards the material.

It's all about the kids surely though.

I have Children who are still honest when you give them their Christmas presents. So if they don’t like it, they’ll tell you I’m sure we all have had this

However when the opposite happens and they love their present, that’s when you as an adult, understand why it’s better to give than receive

I enjoy, but I don't expect. I only get annoyed (but keep it to myself) when there's not reciprocity.

I definitely enjoy giving to people.

I have an agreement with my Mum that we don't buy presents just because it's a special occasion. If there's something either of us would like during the year, we'll treat the other one then.

I'm going to sound old now, but the best present anyone could give me is their time. I've spent too long this year on my own thanks to CoVid and craving the company of my family.

I bloody love presents, giving and receiving - I love the fact that someone has thought about me.

I like to put a lot of thought into the gifts I give people, and my friends are of a similar mindset - little meaningful things mean the world to me.

For the family who really don't put any thought into it I've managed to steer them more towards charitable donations over the years (pointless wasting money just for the sake of handing over something gift-wrapped). It really is the thought that counts with me, but it counts for a lot.

I look around my home and everywhere I look is something I've been given, little reminders of all the love I have in my life.

"Now you’re an adult do you still expect Christmas gifts? Or are you a grownup about it?"

You wasn’t raised right if you grew up expecting gifts from others; At this age I am more concerned about buying gifts for children and Watching joy it brings to them... Not saying I would reject the gift. Haha

I am a complete fussy sod plus I don't need (or want) anything in particular

I would prefer people not buy me gifts, as I rarely utilise them or like them

I always think they should keep hold of their money or spend it on someone who appreciates gifts

It has been a source of aggravation with previous partners who wanted to buy me stuff

Thankfully, the current one is as miserable and awkward as I am, so it works out great

For me Christmas is much more about spending time with the people who matter to me than about the material gifts. I do really enjoy carefully choosing & giving thoughtful presents to loved ones though.

Started my wrapping this morning
