Snow a thing of the past

Experts warn snow could be a thing of the past in the UK within 20 years, what with the global warming and that. What’s your view, is snow passé, will you miss it, or are you not a fan of the white stuff ?!

I thought it was the end of the century? What ever they think its more to do with the jetstream for the uk if that alters then it will be colder than ever in the winter.

Yeah I heard this on the radio today also.

Is it just me, or do world leaders think that climate control is not their problem as they will be long gone by the time the shit hits the fan?

Complete rubbish and guesswork. We all remember fondly the deep snow when we were kids as it’s a stand out memory. We don’t remember the mild grey days in the same way we remember a hot summer and instantly forget the shitty ones.

We are halfway between the equator and moth pole so all depends on which way the wind blows and where the air is from, impacted by the Gulf Stream.

In all fairness, the met office can't always get it right for the next day

But yes, it does not bode well for our planet to have altered weather because of damage we have crested.

I think it’s more than just some bloke sticking his head out the window and saying ‘Yep, definitely milder!’ I think experts, computers and data was used.

Anyway, Britain is moving northwards, due to continental drift, and will be within the artic circle in a few years and they'll definitely be a bit of snow then!

Central Scotland has had little snow over the recent years. Mostly now we get sleat.

From December to April every year I'm glued to weather forecasts around the country for ideal winter climbing conditions. The last really cold year we had was 2013, I climbed my first local (South Wales) ice route in early December and my last on the 4th of April in the evening after work when the clocks had gone forward. The following year it just rained. Even Scotland has been pretty fickle for conditions. I hope the Met Office are very wrong.

The whole climate system that produces our weather is becoming more and more eratcic these days, I love snow, so try and go to the alps once a year to get my time in snowy mountain land.
