What's draining my battery?

I've had this Samsung s5 for ages, nothing spectacular, suits my needs and cheap to use.

But it's always on charge, could never go out for the night without the charger, and the phone is constantly warm. I've replaced the battery, but still the same. I have just a few apps and close them when not needed.

Any ideas?

Do you every optimise your battery in the settings..

Just like a computer you need to sometimes clear the crap

Depending on the smartphone, the lifespan of the battery may be as little as 2 years (500 - 700 charging cycles).

have a look at the battery monitoring on the phone and see what it says. it should be a fairly steady use of battery. but if there is a gap or sharp drop in battery then it has had it and has died on you.

you could try resetting the phone to make sure it is sorted.

back ground apps take battery

wifi or bluetooth.

if nothing jumps out it is a santa special and a new phone. wait till january as they will often put offers on for a new phone

Must be lot of background app which are continuously running and causing drainage of battery. Transfer your useful data to computer and factory reset the phone. You phone will work as brand new and then transfer back the data from computer to phone.

Deep in the New Forest

The older Samsung batteries had issues. If they feel raised in the center then they are on the way out and used to hold enough charge for about half a day's use if lucky.
