There's many reasons, but it's basically to stop you messaging again like some persist in doing when the lady knows she really isnt interested.

It's because they may have had a polite message from someone before, and when they replied back to say thanks but you aren't what I'm looking for, they may have received another message back being rude and abusive. Puts you off answering anyone sometimes, so you just block instead.

We ladies block due to having learned replying and saying politely you are not for me then turnsbin to either a bombardment of messages trying to change your mind or abusive ones calling us stuck up sluts, slags or bitches ( i had them all as a single on here). Thats why it is now easier to block the guys than face abuse! Sorry if that offends you but that is the reason.

I've never been particularly trigger happy with the blocks, but in the last few weeks I've been getting so mamy repeat messages when I've already said "Thanks but not for me".

So after the third message from the same person I'm tending to block now.

I reckon half of them don't even remember they've already messaged me. They've just done a generic cut and paste to anyone in the area.

No, oddly enough it was a guy who claimed he was submissive and liked dominant women. Honestly any man who says he likes to be dominated but then chastises you for being “arrogant” is obviously fibbing

Because when we don’t, we sometimes get an abusive message back for not replying. Like I had an hour ago. And here I was thinking the general rule of thumb was if there was no reply, there’s no interest. I don’t expect abuse for choosing to not waste mine or anyone else’s time.

I agree that's terrible , but women get those mails every single day , several times a day . I'd say I get around 4 a day . I'm sure more popular women who receive more mail than I do get twice the amount of abuse... or more !

I have to concur with this line of thinking. Why do so many men on here think it’s their god given right to have a reply or acknowledgement of some kind? I can have literally a hundred messages a day from people and 99 of them will be from single men who aren’t in my age criteria or within 200 miles of me. Have you considered that you just might not be their type OP? You don’t have a profile picture either. Even if you include photos on your message it would still be an automatic exclusion from me

When it comes to replying to messages - how can the recipient know whether the sender is going to be the "take it on the chin, thanks for the reply" type or the "didn't want to meet you anyway, was only doing you a favour because you're so fugly" type?

There is no way of knowing - so it's not really tarring all men with the same brush it's taking precautions to minimise the risk of abuse.

And as has been said, what difference would a reply really have made? Not a single bit if you're honest.

It’s just their way of how they deal with their profile and their time on this site.

As cold as it may be, but your feelings don’t come into it.

Three weren’t rude or nasty to you, they simply blocked you to stop any further interaction with someone they have no interest in.

It’s nothing to do with entitlement.

Not their type. Think of being blocked as nothing more in that case than a no thank you and they have walked away. If you offer to buy someone a drink and they say no and walk away. Do you follow them? No of course you don’t. So your message was a polite approach to buy them a drink. They declined and walked away out of your life (blocked you).
