With the new pension laws coming into effect in 2028 it means the earliest I can draw my pension is when I’m 57. I can guarantee I won’t work a day past my 57th birthday.

After this I’ll be spending my time travelling far and wide for as long as I can.

My retirement is a long way away so don't have plans as of yet and anything can happen.

I'm in a decent position now career-wise so would like to just get my head and make most of my money in my 30s and 40s and then review where I am. If in a good position, I'd like to take long holidays abroad where I can

Hull

I retire in May next year.

However, in the past 4 months I was getting nowhere with my Pension Company, so evaluated a few Independent Financial Advisers, then chose the one who impressed me the most.

He worked wonders, getting my Pension Pot transferred to a new company, then organised some of my Tax Free Cash allowance into my bank account.

From that, I cleared off the balances of my Mortgage and a Loan, plus still have some to pay for some house improvements being done this month.

I have calculated, as a single person, I can live on my full State Pension. I still have my private pension gathering Interest until I decide how to use it plus tax free cash to draw down as and when I wish!

Meanwhile, I'm on benefits after redundancy last month till next May.

I'm content!

Currently as it stands if you have a pension you can start to draw from it at 55. From 2028 that is extended to 57.

I have 2 pensions. 1 is a DB final salary pension that I’ve paid into for 28 years. 1 is a DC pension which I’ve started a few years ago. With the new regulations around pensions and my current age, the earliest I can now retire and start to draw from my pot is when I reach 57.

explain these laws guys/Gals please,?

Currently as it stands if you have a pension you can start to draw from it at 55. From 2028 that is extended to 57.

I have 2 pensions. 1 is a DB final salary pension that I’ve paid into for 28 years. 1 is a DC pension which I’ve started a few years ago. With the new regulations around pensions and my current age, the earliest I can now retire and start to draw from my pot is when I reach 57."

Oh il be waiting

Yes, without a doubt I’ll be living in Spain for the majority of the year when I’m 55.

Draw down from my pension to purchase a property plus my business in the uk will fund a very modest lifestyle and I’ll toast the sunset every evening with a huge smile on my face.

Mrs M is already retired.

When I eventually hang up my work boots we will look for a barn in the country.

Europe lost its charm when they bought in the Euro.

A couple we know who are both in their 60's, lived in Almeria and their quote for health insurance scared them that much that they sold up and are back in the UK.
