Christmas day will be a family vegetarian lunch, then a meat filled dinner with my bubble. Early night ready for working the horses on boxing day

I enquired about a goose the other day, to pre order from my butcher,

Estimated price 80€ could be 120€

Good Jesus and that's just to feed 5.

So Turkey ham and spiced beef it is then

Roast rib of beef for us this year as a change from turkey. The kids are insisting we still have pigs in blankets with it though!

Desserts still under discussion but I think currently a choice of trifle or Christmas pudding.

I really couldnt give a flying tbh.

I am practising atheist and it gets on my titz to be frank.

Pounded with commercial spend spend spend, want want want......from august to January then straight into easter eggs..... Really.....WTF.

I will have what I fancy but turkey,,, totally over rated by a long country mile. Dont mention sprouts....arrgghhh.

Very partial to duck or Muntjac.

Roast pork n crackling....well bacon and pork scratchings OUT OF A BAG maybe

Profiteroles....prob my fave desert.

The restaurant I always go to is doing home delivery this year, but it's still turkey and all the trimmings. Just might be a little bit... Wiltshire farm foods-esque.

I've got a festive graze box full of meats and cheese and cake and all sorts of good stuff on order for Christmas eve, so I'll be round at my mum's scoffing that and might stay overnight so we can have a few drinks rather than driving home and then back for lunch the next day.

I like goose for boxing day. It is a terrible price these days but a little goes a long way so it all works out ok.

I really love the leftovers, thin slivers of goose with really sharp piccalilli on a sandwich. I just don't much like the smell of it cooking.

We have decided we couldn't be bothered much this year so we're going to cook a ham the day before and then have cheese and nice cured meats with some crusty bread.
