Being honest means she will reveal her unfaithfulness and the existance of the other man. She doesnt care if the 'honest' guy knows and leaves, but doesnt want to lose the other one, so she lies as she loves him.

Not the best start to the relationship.

Sometimes the thing they love is their own reputation and pride. They don't wanna be labelled a cheat by friends and family. They know what they're doing is wrong but are afraid of disappointing those they care about.

They love the cake they're getting to eat.

They love the money they ain't gonna lose by being truthful and potentially having to sell a house etc.

They love the fact that they're the one in control - if they told the truth the person being kept in the dark now has the correct information to be able to make an informed decision. Out of their hands then ain't it.

In my experience it is exactly this.

They don’t want to be seen as the cheat it isn’t a matter of who they love or don’t love.

To me it is simply about respect and lack of respect they have for someone. You can’t love someone if you don’t have respect for them to tell the truth

Just my opinion based on my experiences only
