Ok, I'm pretty hopeless at pub quizzes and have avidly avoided them, as trying to recognise a scrunched up poor quality picture of some famous person appears to be way beyound my intelligence levels, and although i pick up lots of useful information from the news etc, i tend to be pretty bad in recalling it for a quiz.

So last night, 2 friends and I went to a pub, shortly after arriving we were confronted by the fact it was Pub Quiz Night, and we all refused to take part, being quite happy to sup our Guinness or Bud while continuing our chat. Next to our table was 2 guys and a girl in their late teens/early 20's who were playing the Pub Quiz.

First question out, Who was the Banker Scaked last week, and lo and behold I knew the answer so blurted out Bob Diamond. Before I knew it, we 3 guys had actively joined in the pub quiz with our new found friends on the adjoining table, we even got into the Music Bingo (Oh how embarressing...lol) before discovering that with our help the kids team had won the quiz with 41 points out of 60, the team quickly being renamed Dad's & Kid's...

Woohoo, first time ever have I won a pub quiz, and the kids bought us all a beer out of the winnings so everything was right in the world....lol

Doas anyone else love or hate pub quizzes?

I thought I was good at quizzes until a guy on my staff 'in another life' revealed that he played in a pub quiz league around SE London for money..... SERIOUS MONEY!!!!!

Stuff he knew was incredible, but the gay/TV designer luvvies tuaght him stuff that was unlikely to ever come up in round 3 of the Final....... Lol!

I love them but rarely go to them because of time and other commitments, I'm addicted to Songpop at the moment (for those who haven't got the app,you have to guess the song faster than your opponent) I'm shit at that too lol

love em... was considering doing some sort for forum pub quiz social event at one point... may revisit the idea at some point, I think it would be a good giggle...

the pub quiz element early... then move the tables and have some sort of karaoke/mobile disco after.....

My general knowledge is pretty good, so I don't fare to badly until it comes to soap stars and football, may as well have had my brain removed.

Used to love pub quizes but sadly mobile phones have ruined it for us when an answer is just a google click away.

not a problem at our quiz.

we have moderators watching every team.

Players have to put their phones in a box in the middle of their table and their hands have to be visible at all times.

if they want to join in they have to do it or thet get disqualified. we did it once so no-one cheats any more.
